The Secret World of Gardens

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Anyone catch this program on HGTV last night? It was neat! It had awesome time lapsed photography and was really informative about all the creepy-crawlies in your garden. I think it's going to be a series.... but I'm not sure about that. Ya'll should try to catch it if they show it again.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

We don't have HGTV :( I know I would just love that one about the creepy crawlies. We are so into bugs here..Lisa

Poppysue, I saw the show, It was pretty cool!!!! I do believe they said it was going to be a series but did not give any other info!!! I sure hope so, maybe even once a month, It had to be pretty hard to get all all those little (and big) creatures to look into the camera!!! sue

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I missed it, boo hoo, but one of the promos mentioned that it would be a weekly thing, I think Tues. nites.

Donna

I saw the last half of it, and I liked it. They did an excellent job mixing the music with the video, and the photography was excellent.

It looked like a very high quality piece of work - I wonder if HGTV outsourced to have it produced. I hope that make it a series.

It comes on tonight at 8:00 (eastern)!

Trish

Is it the same episode as the last one (i.e. an encore)?

Dave

It didn't say for sure, but I don't think so. I think Sunday was an "introduction". It looked like tonight it will be all about bees.

Trish

Well, HGTV is trying to break into the primetime hour aren't they? I hope they don't try anything foolish like moving it to Thursday!! :) You listening HGTV?! :)

I think I saw it recently on another network. I don't get HGTV. We do get Rebecca's Garden here and also The Victory Garden. We used to get the one on perennials with Karen Strohbean but not lately. I loved that one. She is sooo enthusiastic about gardening that it's infectious.

Where's the Victory Garden? I've been wanting to see it ever since it won the vote on the DG awards. What channel and what time?

Patty- not only do we talk to each other on the boards, we email each other all day! Sometimes we even call each other- LOL!

It's just to much trouble to walk from one office to the next :)

Trish

For example, I had a question for trish this evening. Instead of walking to the house (we do have two houses here, "his and her's" ha! I just rang her up. :)

Dave, I get Victory Garden on HGTV (10.30 am on Mondays & 1.30 pm on Sundays) and on Knowledge Network (forgot the times), as HGTV is filmed down the road from you, why don't you phone them up and ask them the times. I just love HGTV, that & FoodTV are my favourite shows.

The "The Secret World of Gardens" has been on all winter here in BC and is a wonderful program. There have been about 13 episodes, from Butterflies to Slugs (UG), all are needed in the ecology of the garden. The photography is out of this world. The one on the Dragon flies was spectacular!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Gardendragon, you're going to make us all jealous - you've already seen that many episodes??? Ooooooh, don't tell us too much, not yet!

Darn it, I missed the show again; was busy last night stripping wallpaper. Well, I'll just have to keep an eye out for it.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I saw the one on bees, Tues. nite, it was unbelieveably good. So much info on the Bumblebee that I never knew. This is one program that I will try to catch every week. Maybe I will learn more about my garden insect friends !!!
