Hi Someone sent me seeds to this plant. After reading about it, it says to soak the seeds for 24 hours before planting. I can't see how I can do this safely and then be able to get the seeds out as they are very tiny. Anyone grow this from seeds and have directions on growing it?
thanks

Did you get soaking from the Seed to Bloom book? I don't think that's right. Just surface sown them in light. If I remember right they germinate pretty easily.
Tamlam: My dad used to grow burning bush in Indiana, so I've tried starting it indoors here. I've never had very good luck, so I think it might be best sown outdoors. I seem to recall something about soaking the seeds, but I had the same reaction you did.
Usually, soaking seed is suggested to expedite the germination process, so it might take longer for them to come up, but if you keep them moist, I don't see the problem.
Hello tamlamb - I've sown these many times without the need for soaking. Sow seed in light soil in temp of 55F/13C.
Peter.
Thanks for the reply peter. I couldnt understand soaking them when they are so small to begin with.
