Hey you hand pollinators! How do ya do it?

Toston, MT(Zone 4a)

I'm going to try my hand at hand pollinating some of my own flowers this year. I'd like to know how the color genetics work, and the main do's and don'ts of the process.
Thanks in advance!

Wow! I saw this awhile back , and I was tired, so I didnt reply. But I will now. I just take a tiny paint brush and touch the flowers, and touch the other flowers. Its not that complicated. I dont know what keeping it pure means. Maybe to only pollinate, the same plant with the same plants. I had to do it with the squash last couple of years. And eggplant. I just look and if the flower isnt fruiting , I pollinate, early in the morning before the flower close. When it gets hot. I wonder sometimes where all the bees go.
