Saturday 31st March
Well Patty, the bathrooms is white painted with a slight hint of green, creamy green marble tops with gold plated faucets and fittings. The garden tub sits in a beadboard area and the walls (about 1 ft higher than the bath) are done this way as is the side of the bath. Its all white! A big window is sited just above the tub. DH has his vanity and mine is on the other side near another window. I wanted the beadboard and trim to be cream but the builder made such a fuss and was going to cost so much more I decided we would do it ourselves later. So I thought I would have the oval mirrors in a creamy shade, but I could go antique bronze or something like that. What do you think?
Hi everyone! Is it possible to read this slightly nearer real time? I seem to miss everyone. I see the Mail has an offer on bulbs. Might order them. Hi Louisa!! Hi Patty!
Hi Diane. Almost 4.30 here. 10.30 your time huh!! Or is it 11.30? How are you - understand you had a busy day :-)

Patty, back in England, my kitchen was cream and white - it looked wonderful! Maybe it sounds a bit like ham and ham, but then I do provide accent colours and brightly coloured china plates, dried flowers, pictures - it all comes together!
It's 10.30 here, or a few minutes past now. Is that 5 or 6 hours difference? It must be near your tea-time. I've spent most of the day round the puter trying to work out where all it's innards are. It's hard drive wasn't too happy. It'll be great when we get warmer weather again. That decorating scheme sounds gorgeous Louisa!! Bye for now!!
Hello, i have been reading whats been said, why do you need so many mirrors ?, you can only look at one at a time ?.

I am sorry if it was me :-(...I keep popping in and out, but I thought I answered....Hi Diane, the only thing bad about our chats are the time differences! At least I know if I can't sleep where I can go to talk! Patty, the weather letting up any up there? Alan, did you get lots done today? Well I am off outside for a little while again..bye! Lisa
Hmmn, how do you describe a house, its brick, has two living rooms largeish kitchen, three bedrooms a walk in pantry and two mirrors, full gas central heating, double glazed windows, normal house really,
So we have a new kid on the block, not here tonight though.

I was going to ask Lisa that, i dont know what that is, all the tv shows and movies we get here seem to show mostly wooden houses out there, it always struck me as odd,( and i mean no offence by this) that people who live in areas prone to very high winds and tornados live in wooden houses, i have never lived in a wooden house, wants the benifit ?.
Lisa, i got lots done today, its been another good day here, it got cloudy and drizzeld for half an hour this afternoon, but its been quite mild, it still is.

Your weather's different from mine Alan. The ground's sodden and it's cold and windy and quite unpleasant. The sun came out late in the afternoon, too late to bring much warmth.

Well, looks like I'm punished..:-( the little one doesn't want to go back outside, she says she has enough work for today..*chuckle*...Not so bad of punishment though, now I can hang out here for a little while.
Lets see, a 'faux room'..the best way I can explain it is that in the magizine I saw the lady made this 'room' in her yard. She took a part of her shed and added a door out of old shutters and some old windows hung down on some chains. It was so pretty, I just have to have one. I really can't explain how it looked. The room was outside in the elements so everything in it was made to with stand it. I will have to take a picture when I am finished. Lisa
Lisa, sounds like hen den for you ?, let us know when you post a pic.
Patty, how are you heated ther, are they hot on summer and cold in winter ?.

Since I might have peeved you off by my earlier remarks, I decided to just watch and hold my tongue..lol. No, I was not referring to you guys. Alan, I know what your'e saying about brick homes. I have watched mine go up and I'm not surprised they are blown down. Americans used to build with brick way back when, but it then became a matter of cost. The only way my house is protected against tornadoes is a type of fastener on the roof trusses that is code in this area. It's supposed to keep the roof on, but I think come a realy humdinger of a wind and the whole [profanity removed] house will go...lol. Patty, in England all houses are mainly built with brick and some go bact to the 12th century. Lisa, I love your idea of a garden room outside and I think I know what you mean. I saw one that was almost like a lean-to with trellis work for the walls, beams for the ceiling etc.
BTW someone send me rose cuttings and I have no idea who it was. I posted a message on the rose forum. Lisa, it was someone from Louisiana (I already mentioned this I think). Patty, I meant to ask, is your cold better now?
Hi louisa, thought you had gone ?.
patty, i am heated and cook with gas, i have an emersion heater is the gas is ever off for some reason, but mostly its the electric that goes off anyway, my kettle is electric, but i have one for the gas too.
Bingo! Louisa, that is it! I wanted to say a lean-to, but I didn't know if anyone would know what I was talking about!! Silly me! I thought lean-to was a southern thang..oh oh, gotta go, my neighbor is yelling at me that her horse is having colic and is down, she needs help...Lisa

Before I left England, some 4 years ago now, it was over 90F and on the Wimbledon courts it was over 100. And humid to boot!! But our houses stay pretty cool in summer Patty and nice and toasty in the winter. I'm really sick of the long winter. It hasn't been that bad for us, so can't complain, it's just been so darn long. Is colic very bad in a horse - I can't bear the thought of it.
Our summers rarely get into 90f, odd times it get there and a bit more but not often, here in the fens it does get very humid, especialy at night, but winters, it can go very low and last for weeks, like this year, we dont have much snow here compared to the rest of the Uk, but its frost we get here, and freezing fog, and that lingers for days on end into weeks some winters, but i dont think we have the same extremes as you do, -6 you say is that c or f ?, we have the c officialy, but i still use f myself.

Don't you know Alan, America has not switched to decimalization either. I wonder why? How long ago did the UK do it. Has to be an age now!

louisa, 1970 wasnt it, i still like pounds (lbs) and onces, and centigrade, only because i dont want to be like the [profanity removed]ed french, lol, yes, how is your mog ?.
Thanks for asking, both of you, about Brandy. He looks quite alert. My vet in England said that if the subcutaneous injections (getting fluid back into the body) upset and stress him out then there is no point in doing it, but the vet over here says its vital we give it to him every second day for the rest of his life. I know we have to try it, but sometimes I feel that if he's going to die, then let him die in peace. This vet is talking about IVs and such and it all helps to put money in his pocket of course - the cost of such treatment is high, but that's not the issue here - I don't want my animal under stress for what remaining time he has left.

Patty, I know because we have spoken about it before, that you are used to life and death situations in the animal kingdom. The subject would not bore me, but rather bring to mind that animals do indeed suffer and the awful thing is that they can't tell you where it hurts. More often than not they have already suffered before us humans realize it and sometimes then its too late to do anything about it. As for horses, I'm sure their problems are very complex and I am glad that I don't have to deal with it, but I've told you before, I am a wimp when it comes to creatures.
Changing the subject here. Why is it that when we bring up all the forums page that it will say NO, but when I open up the UK forum for instance there has been a post. I know Dave explained this but I really don't know why it doesn't say Yes then we would know if someone has posted! Can't make head or tail of this at all.
Louisa, kind hearted peole always sufer the loss of an animal, its even bought a few hard cases down a bit.
Patty, the french are so arrogant they think they rule the bllody world, i think we should flood the channel tunnel and brick the buggers in, they are rude to everyone, that why England spent 300 years fighting them.
Okay folks, I am back. Seems it was a false alarm. My neighbors keep their horses in our pasture, so that is why she came running to our house. The horse had something caught in his tail and kept going down to get it off. Funny now! My lovely horse died due to problems after having colic. He became lame, he foundered,so I know how serious it can be. All is well! Lisa
