Crestedchick, I can't understand those people at fast food places down here, either. And I'm from here! LOL!
Just got a girlfriend who's into brugs (now that I showed her mine and some pictures of blooms) to send e-mails, too!

Yes, I wonder too if Monika has heard anything yet.
I have not as my lector is still on its easter vacation. But I heard, he returned only for today for a big meeting.
Wonder what it was?
Maybe the big meeting had to do with an English edition of your book. :) We'll keep hoping.
I will hope so too!
Monika-
I can tell you this much, we Americans are pretty ornery and hard headed. Some more than others. We won't give up till your book is in english.
I will let you know as fast as I have heard from them.
I am going to e-mail two new pictures to them for the two, I want to have removed. Maybe there will be an earlier reply.
I sent out my emails also. Monika, congratulations on the 3rd edition of your book...of course I want mine signed (smile) and I'm sure that as the author you will be able to get volumes to sell directly...at least that is what publishers sometimes arrange here in Canada...that way everyone on the forum here could order directly from you and get a signed copy...ahhhhhh wouldn't that be wonderful brugmaniacs!!
Joydie
Hi Monika,
Yes, I would like signed version, also (o: German is okay.
But I am sending the email for the English version, also.
Much of my ancestry came from where you are ..German, Prussian, Bavarian.
Though grandmother's name was French ..she came from Bavaria. Jumped the border, I guess ;-)
I have never understood the term 'housewife'. Married, yes. But we do NOT marry the house! LOL
We got a houseman too! It is new word, means the woman is earning the money and man is running the household. But I am not kidding about this. Its reality. The only thing still missing is the man nursing the baby! LOL
But he would be a househubby or MR.Mom or else a house wife would be a housewoman, right???LOL
Thats right LOL. A well known german politican took the baby year (two years paid vacation) while his wife was working. After that, he lost the next election.
A woman here can not get a 2 year paid vacation to stay home with a baby(unless she marries a guy with a really good job(or 2 or 3 jobs)We're lucky to get 6 weeks disability! My sisters husband lost his job when she was pregnat with her first one.He never went back to work! They now have 5 kids and he is the best Mr mom I know!
It does here in Germany. The employer has to hold the job for two years. Man or woman can deceide which of them wants to take the baby year. The social health insurance pays for it; sometimes there is no other way, if the husband doesnt find a job but the wife has one. We have, I believe 12% disemployment rate, still increasing. But CC, there are about 50% deductions from the monthly earnings and taxes are still rising. They say, that every half Euro (each second Mark before)
earned goes for taxes.
Thats how we feel too,I bring home about half of what I make.NY state is losing all kinds of workers and buisness because of taxes(the weathers not great here either LOL)
Surprise, Surprise!!!
I just received a big letter from my lectors secretary!
The first thing I did, open it and read!
You dont believe it; I could not myself. It was just another review about my book from a magazine, I dont even know!
Not a word about your E - Mails.
I imagine, that this Mr. Mangelsdorff is not authorizised, giving information or making comments. You and I must wait until Monday or Tuesday, until my lector, Dr. Thomas Hagen, will be back from vacation.
