Dave,

I just read your what's new. You should post warning when user used any of the standard html sysmbols. Watch out for the pipe and colon...those can screw things up. Just error check against everything except for alpha chacs and numbers and underscore in the user login. What do you think of that?

Tim, you are correct. I should allow only dashes, underscores, and alpha and numbers.

Frankly, I don't like spaces, but there is nothing technically wrong with them.

I have wanted to do this error checking since day one, but have been lazy. Fortunately, it hasn't come up yet, but I guarantee that it will. Thanks for giving me the kick in the seat that I needed. I will get it done.

Nobody is allowed to have extra stuff in their username anymore. I am grandfathering in those who have spaces and commas, etc, but nobody new can have them.

The people who have these special characters in their username will one day have the mark of eliteness on them. ;-)
