Tamlamb: Inside or outside. You can plant butterfly bush seeds inside now and the 4 O'Clocks if you plant them inside wait till you have 4-6 weeks left before your frost date is over. If you plant the 4 o'clocks outside, wait untill all danger of frost is past. Frost date for zone 5 is May 15.

thanks Debbie, both will probably start inside.

Debby,
If we get down to 11 degrees like they are saying for Thursday night, that makes me wonder if our last frost date might be the middle of July. :-)

Brugie: Yikes, and snow and wind on Wednesday. Is spring ever going to get here. I have canna's and elephant ears in the greenhouse. Will have to move them to the propergation mats and turn up the heater. I don't like this at all. After such a mild winter, I thought this might happen.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

We had spring-like weather all winter, then March came and we are getting the extreme cold and snow. Ugg! I just started flower gardening last year, and my perennials started to pop up in Feb., since it was so nice. I think I lost them! :( Like Brugie, I'm afraid spring might be late too.

Joan: Your perennials should be okay. They will bounce right back when it does start to feel like spring. It can't come any too soon now.

tamlamb, I've got yellow butterfly bush winter sown and coming up - it is so exciting to see green... Brenda
