question about Perle des Jardins and zone 6

Plymouth, PA(Zone 5b)

Hi I live in NE PA and someone is sending me a cutting from her Perle des Jardins. Everything I read on it says zones 7-9. My question is came this plant survive in a ZOne 6 if mulched heavily in the winter? Has anyone had luck with it in zone 6 or less?
Thanks
tammy

Peter Beales says "apparently quite hardy"; Botanica's Roses" does say "Zones 7-9". Whatever I read stresses that this rose likes it dry and sunny. I would try it up against the foundation of the house, where it will be hotter and drier, a nice south-west exposure... After autumn blooming is over I would hill up the soil to a foot or so over the crown of the plant. Now, if you can teach me how to root roses... John
