Shoes and Socks

This morning when I was putting on my shoes,I remembered an "All in the family" episode,where Archie and Meathead had a discussion of how one should put on their shoes.Archie said," Every one knows you put on both socks then both shoes."Meathead was saying,"no,you put on a sock and a shoe,and a sock and a shoe"...I must be like Meathead,cause that's how I put mine on...How do you?
Archies theory was,if you have to suddenly go outside,you would have both feet covered.Meatheads was,if you had to go out and it was raining,you would at least have one foot with a shoe and could hop around and your other sock wouldn't get wet.

LOL..........I put on my socks first as I usually walk around in socks and only put shoes on if I have to go somewhere. I remember when I was younger I got my butt spanked many times for being caught outside, having taken my shoes off and playing with only my socks on. Well, didn't help any as I still do it :)

Boy does that bring back many memories of spankens, I am a no shoes guy and was always in trouble for wearing my socks outside.

Me too I am still guilty of doing it, yet on many of occasions I can be heard Cuz I SAID SO to Kaylle about wearing socks outside with out shoes.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. LOL

Well Dori and I are alike in that regard!! Hate shoes, if I can avoid them!! Less is difinitely more with me!!

yep, I am socks first too. But only if I am going out somewhere, b/c I am not a shoe person at all! I love being barefoot! O and yes I have been guilty of going outside with socks on hee hee and yes I yell at the boys for doing just that! Anyone here sleep in socks?? Not me!!!

I sleep in sock 12 mos of the yr, I have poor circulation and my feet stays cold.

I put my socks on first thing, shoes don't go on unless I leave the house. Sometimes I run outside in socks too. I can't stand to not have socks on if I'm awake and up and around. Gotta have my feet covered.

I wish I could say I am consistent like you folks. I thought about it, and already knew what it would turn out to be. I can't stand my feet getting stuff on them, it's most uncomfortable, so I have a jillion sandals and slippers to slip into, scattered all over the house. But I run outside before I think about putting on shoes, so most of the inside footwear soon gets caked with mud or the strings on tennis shoes have burrs from the pasture. Every time I buy new ones, I promise myself not to wear them outside, and not to stick my feet into them when I might soil them, like when I just came in from gardening and my feet and shoes and socks all picked up part of the garden. But I always find that my intentions are the best but my follow through leaves much to be desired. I think most of the time, I put on a shoe, a sock, a shoe, and a sock, but I could be wrong.

So you wear your socks on the outsides of your shoes, Aimee? ;-) I do like you do, sock-shoe, sock-shoe. But only when I HAVE to. I prefer barefoot.

sock-shoe, sock-shoe. about 25% of the time I have to take them back off because I forgot to put my slacks on first!!!Guess thats another reason to like summer, cause you can just pull your shorts on anyway! :)

Wingnut, you make me blush, how could I have done that? And I also have to take my shoes off half the time because, well, you know. Well, I have a lot on my mind!

Yep, Aimee, I know what you mean! Half the reason I don't like to wear shoes is so I can count and add easier. *grin*

I see by the posts that we have very few people here that like SHOES!! Mine come off at the door...not because I'm a "neat-nik" but because I don't LIKE them!! Jo
