You just WON:T believe this!

I was doing this one lady's hair last week, and she had the most recent issue of "HORTICULTURE" magazine. (the march april issue.) Its a lovely cover. We were discussing "what that purple flower was on the cover"? Concluded it lavendar. So, no where in the magazine could we FIND this information....So, I went home and checked their website. They indeed had the cover there. So, I emailed them and asked them......{YOU BETTER BE SITTING DOWN!} Carleen Madigan emailed me back ....said it was indeed Lavendar. BUT! Was sorry to say ..".had NO IDEA THE CULTIVAR!" but> recommended a book on the subject.NOW...THIS IS A HORTICULTURE MAGAZINE...HELLO????? SOME ONE NOT DOING THEIR JOB HERE!!!!!!!http://www.hortmag.com/

You would think that they never expected anyone to ask! They should know how inquisitive gardeners are. LOL!

I let my subscription run out for this reason. there seems to be a lot of info missing and there are better magazines out there. I'm getting the Gardener magazine that White Flower Farm started. No photos, but wonderful drawings and tons of information.

I didn't renew after a year for some of the same reasons. It really turned out to be more of a picture book after the fact of gardening than a gardening magazine. I didn't need a book of garden tours.

Well, after I got the email,I called the lady and told her...She was so mad! She was gonna cancle her's too. And she just started it!(ps) HOW are you a horticulture magazine and not KNOW what you have a picture of?

I too let my subscription run out for the same reasons stated above. Also, too many advertisements, and they do not hesitate to sell your name to every body....and I mean the whole world was sending me junk mail, the reason I know is because my hubby gave me the subscription, and used his last name (Pebble Caglar) instead of mine (pebble jackson) so all of a sudden I started getting trillions of junk mail addressed to pebble caglar.....

Well, I for one think that if that is your business, you should know what is happening there. AND they should NOT be selling your name to otherplaces so you get junk mail. I am very glad I do NOT get that magazine and will not recommend it to others.

Jeepers! You'd think if they published a photo of an unknown cultivar they could at least make it into a "Identify This Plant" contest or something...

Thats a great idea! Too bad THEY weren;t interested enough to do that! Wonder just how much $$ they get each year for NOT knowing the names of plants. heck. Give ME that job.
