What we're up to...

Zone 6, OH(Zone 6a)

Pole climbing today. I have to get re-trained on a telephone man type of job for the Reserves. I don't work outside in the civilian world, but I have a phone related job in the civilian world, but all inside work. This is what they call the "pole orchard". I'm on the last pole in the corner on the far right, in the very back.

I think you should plant something at the base of the poles.

I used to be a monkey...ah...uhm...house painter before I settled down, but this extra padding I've accumulated keeps me firmly on the ground now. ;-)

Thank you, HC, for doing this for us. I'm sure I speak for all us Americans when I say that words can't convey how much I do thank you for being ready to be called to defend us.

What an amazing country we live in! They Plant fields of poles and the poles bloom with men! I do hope the blooms are gently plucked from the poles and not just left to drop off!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Like a cat, I would go up, but getting down would be scary. I agree, flowers are needed around the base of the poles. Orchard, indeed! But I might plant the poles if they do really bloom with men. I could use a few around the place.
