I just got these - the flowers are hot pink with a red star. Is there anything I need to be aware of if I want to save this seed after it blooms? Will they cross pollinate with regular morning glories planted nearby or stay true to the original seed?
Many thanks for any help with these questions. (As you can tell, I'm a novice.) ;-)
Hot Pink Morning Glory Seeds
I meant to add that this is an heirloom seed and not a hybrid. :-)
ooo those are nice would love to have some seed when you get some. do not know much about morning glories but it is likly they will cross with other varietys that are close by
That looks like the crimson rambler?? maybe? I could have sworn I read that morning glories generally do not cross... but I don't know where in the heck I read it. I think it was on one of the morning glory sites. I would grow them on their own trellis or pole anyhow. Don't plant different ones mixed in with them. If you have different kinds a few yards away I wouldn't worry about them crossing. It could happen but I think the chances are kinda slim.
Troy - I have some seeds of one that is just about the same color as this. If you want a few e-mail me.
love the color!
Oh that so beautiful, I love that color would love to have some seeds if anyone have some. If do email me to let me know... Thanks~
Redrose & Troy - I'll try planting it separately (thanks Poppysue!) and will be glad to send you seed later this summer.

I am sorry to say that I had really bad luck with these seeds. I planted 8 of the 10 and gave 2 to my daughter. NONE of the 8 came up - and I've always had good germination with morning glory seeds. In fact, I have THOUSANDS of seeds that have come up from last year's vines, and also had 15 out of 18 moon vines germinate. My daughter hasn't planted her 2 yet - but I don't hold much hope - even with jiffy pots.
Anyway - this was an expensive disappointment (Ebay purchase) and I'm sorry I won't have any to share ... or enjoy. :-(
BOO HOO =,( that is ok and understand. Hope someone will send you some seeds and me too. =)
Redrose - I was sure I sent you some seeds in the last batch I sent you. I probably called them "Crimson Pink" on the package. Are you sure you don't already have them?
No Poppysue, I am "Honest" I don't have this one seeds.
Ok - you have mail.
Thank you for considering me! I am sorry that your seed did not germinate, truly this would have been a joyful plant to have in bloom.
