thanks, I'm also on my way to the mental health place right now, still trying to get into the Consumer Service Assistant training and it's looking good. Since I could set my own hours with it, it would be perfect if I got both of those jobs :)

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

thought I'd update again. Will let you know about the Doc's job as soon as I know. But here's something else I want to try to do. What do you think? I'm not sure how to pull it off yet and will check into getting a loan but I don't know how that will work as I already have an outstanding loan from college(long story.......had to do with my ex) anyway, they are looking for real estate agents in this area and they said that I can get hired if I go through the schooling and pass my test but it's going to be around $1,000. Have any of you done this or know someone who has? Just wanted some input on what you all thought about it :)
Thanks for supporting me, this means allot to me. More than you can know

Wigan, Landcashire, United Kingdom

Been watching a programme on the BBC, and it showed a local boy who set up his own business cleaning houses and ironing, and now he has a few staff and it is expanding quickly. I have a cleaner(local girl)she does the heavy work for me, as since becoming a diabetic a few years ago i dont have the stamina, so i keep to my work and the garden and do a bit of tidying up as well as hubby, he has to do his share.

Bonne Chance!!

Susan...yours truly was a Real Estate Agent in Va. Beach for a while. It's a good field, but you live off commissions...and any Broker will be glad for you to hang your license in his office...he gets half your commission....but he pays for a lot of your expenses too. You would probably do well at this, but you have to "beat the bushes" to make any money. I'm suprised that it cost $1,000 for the school...I took it through the Adult Education of the Va. Beach School system and it was MUCH less than that. Don't know if your area has this program or not...check it out before you sign with a private school. Jo

Also check with your state Realty Board (maybe another name) to see what is requierd and where to get the necessary courses, licenses, etc.

ok, update

the interview went well, was with the doctor and I'm keeping my fingers crossed on it. As far as the mental health place, I'm going to the training on the 18th and 20th.

As for the realty thing, I stopped by the century 21 office next to where I live and she said she would sit down and talk to me more. I could get sponsored by a broker to take the courses.

that's all the news I have sofar :)

Susan,

I actually do marketing for a lady in real estate. She does enough business that she needs help and I've done a lot of marketing stuff for folks in the past, so it was an easy thing to do. I work on my computer at home, mail things to her clients and get a decent check for it when anyone she works with buys or sells something.

One thing I read, though, about real estate agents is that the average income for an agent is around $15,000 per year. Most agents can't handle the constant effort required to drum up business. It is work.

If you can get a broker to sponsor you, you'll have to hang your hat with them, most likely, so choose a good office. At least they'll pay the up front expenses for you.

Let me know if you want to know more.

Smilin...do the agents still call that practice "farming"? That is what I disliked doing...loved shoing property and meeting new people...but calling and mailing out stuff drove me crazy!...What? Well, yes, I was already a little crazy...Another thing Agents have to be careful of is showing property to unknow clients ALONE! Lots of women agents have been hurt and killed, as I'm sure we've all read about. Jo
