Can i share my week?

It all started last saturday with the grand finale of my stepson moving back to new york and his mom.
Then, on Sunday, DH left out on the road. He was supposed to be home friday, but mid week got hung up in Denver because of the snow and then hung up again in Tulsa.
On Wednesday, I slipped a disk in my back when i sneezed while brushing my teeth. I was out of work Weds and Thurs.
On Saturday, my cat, Speedbump (you know the one i rescued from the road) decided to use my waterbed mattress as a scratching post, puncturing it beyond repair. I came home from work late that night to have my feet soaked when i walked in the bedroom.
On Sunday, my son Brandon, was at a birthday/slumber party and broke his hand while playing football. My father spent all day at the ER with him today, had it xrayed and verified it was broken. The swelling was too bad for them to cast it today, so he has to go to ortho in the morning to get his cast.
Just as i was thinking that nothing worse could happen, i went to the bank to deposit money...as i was talking to angel, the tellar, i looked at my balance....it said $911.02
(im NOT kidding) i made the comment oh great, now my bank statement is reminding me how to dial 911...she said no jen..its telling you that things COULD BE WORSE!!!!
just thought id pass that along..but im still afraid to leave the house, lol

Oh Jen...what a week...and to think you can still smile about it and write such a good thread. (You were smiling at the end right?) Maybe the 911.02 meant this is your big 911 crisis for the year... hence the 02...so the rest of the year will be great. Here's hoping it is....!

PS When I got to the line about the cat named SPEEDBUMP...my heart sank as I was sure "Speedbump" had became "RoadKill"!!!

So I was relieved really to hear only your waterbed bit the big one! Not Speedbump!

Msjen, been there with weeks like that and it does get better. I think what made it all not so bad was knowing folks here cared about me and we care about you too. ((((Jen))))) take care of that back, you've got to go to Florida in a few days.

amanda, to tell you about speedbump. a roundabout way of how he came into our lives..
we were on our way home from football practice back in oct/nov and pressing the limits that i do i was illegally driving on a road that hadnt opened yet..it was so convenient tho (cut about 20 mins off the trip home) anyway, just as i turned on the road, i noticed that a sheriff was in the turn lane behind me. he ended up getting caught in the turn lane which enabled me to take a side road, therefore avoiding a sure ticket (my try at being a criminal, lol) anyway, as i was driving the long way home, with dh behind me, i came across this tiny ball of fur. i thought it was roadkill. just as my wheels stradled it, the tiny head moved.i cringed because i saw the big dodge behind me but luckily he missed him too. so i turned around and resuced him, brought him home fed and bathed the blood off of him. someone had obviously thrown him from a car window. understand, i had NO intentions of keeping him. so, about 3 weeks later, my beloved harley died (breaks my heart still) so the kitten ended up having a home after all. i honestly couldnt think of a name for this one..so speedbump became his name, lol.
since then, hes been called numerous things, some nice, some notso nice, but speedbump he is and thats the one he answers to.

Oh Jen! I'm sorry that you are having such a rough week. I hope things pick up for you soon and good things are on the way. We are here for you if you need to vent. Lord knows, I've done my fair share lately and I'm ready to listen and support.

I, too, was worried about Speedbump until I read farther into your post.

this is too much..started washing clothes this morning and now the washer is leaking. didnt notice it until i dropped something behind the computer desk and came out with a wet hand..yikes!!!!
but.on a lighter note, im having a new bedroom suite deliverd today..whats a girl gotta do when shes down???? SHHHOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!

well, seems like when it rains it pours, doesn't it. But even though, sometimes just a little bit of sunshine comes through :)
I on the other hand always seem to ignore the sunshine and need to learn to notice it too and not just the rain.

Keep your chin up dear, I definately know what it's like. Although...........hmmmmmm.........I only have $23.57 in my bank account :(

Hey, I'll trade my relatively sane week for your bank balance! Who can afford a bank account with the charges these days? I am just happy you are able to laugh about it and enjoy a new bedroom suite. Never had one!

lol, believe me, the reason i had to go to the bank was to deposit money to cover checks i had already written, lol..
so much is due on the first and i have a tendancy to overextend myself : (
