I kicked the Brugs out....

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

For mice we always used peanutbutter with pieces of dry cat food in it.the theory is that they tug on the cat food and snap the trap instead of them just licking the peanut butter up....

Try a chocolate chip in your mousetrap. Put the choc. chip on your tongue till it just gets a bit soft (I know, it will be terribly difficult to take it out of your mouth and not eat it), and while it is still soft, mush it on the little bait thingie on the trap. Once it cools and hardens, those little mousies have to really get into it and gnaw to get some, that's when the old trap goes..........SNAP!!!! And you got 'em. Chocolate chips work MUCH better than peanut butter. Trust me on this one. I have caught many more mice with chocolate chips than PB.

Anna,
I'm afraid if I put the chip in my mouth the mouse would never see it. LOL

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

hmmmmmm, a chair, a stereo and a lamp....Are you sure this isn't a library?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I don't like mice or rats, they must go. Poor Wally(the dog) loves to dig for the mice and voles, he is a hoot to watch. I have spiders in the green houses, all kinds of them. We try not to kill them since they eat the bugs. I had brought a nest of praying mantis into the green house and noticed that they had hatched. They are so cute when they are tiny. Noticed also that the lady bugs are coming in to look for bugs.
Snow, your green house does look so neat!! Wish I could say the same for mine.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I will try both advices, PB and chocolate. There are four traps.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Let us know Monika which one catches the most mice. :)

FSH, TX

I found a mouse ate clear threw a few of my seedlings last year. Definitly a menace to Brugmansia.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

No mouse today.

Brugman,
We have what the old folks call wood rats and they will eat the trunk of a Brug almost in half....It doesn't seem to bother the plant but it sure looks bad.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Do the rodent's get hallucinations, from the brugs???

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

No catch today. I might as well eat the chocolate myself.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)
