GardenWeb problems Info

Hi everyone!

Over the past several months I have seen posts here from people complaining about being ban. I always wondered what they really did? I had a hard time believing that they would be ban/blocked for something so small. Well...I was just ban. Why you ask? For answering a post from spike ASKING for comments. BTW I am not the only one to be ban for responding to spikes request for comments. I have received a number of e-mails from people who also had their comments removed. I have include the exact posting that got me ban below. Let me know what you think. BTW I am not at all bothered by being ban from GW as I think that Dave personally is a whole lot better as a person and web admin, and Dave's Garden is a better site anyway.
Here's why I was ban:

You asked for input and suggestions about the future of the GardenWeb. Why did you delete all of my comments? I want to see the GardenWeb
succeed. I just think that we (you and gardenweb users) need to be realistic about human nature and what users will and will not pay for. People are
quick to say they will pay but not as quick to do so. And I really think that it will hurt the site.

Your actions on deleting my posts says 3 things to me.
1) You "want a bunch of yes men"
2) You don't want anyone to post opinions that don't agree with yours or are critial of you or anything on this site. BTW for those who didn't read my
post I had 1 bad comment about people being sent to disney.com and one about the fact that charging folk a fee to use the GardenWeb would cause
the down fall of the site, which I don't want.
3) I was told that other people's comments were removed because of what they said on this subject. I now know that to be true by what has happen to
me.

If all you want are warm and fuzzy feel good comments then your posting should have been. "Gardenweb is having troubles: Please post warm and
fuzzy comments"

If I didn't care about the site do you think I would take the time to write all of these comments? If I wanted to just trash you and or the site there are a
lot better and easier ways. So please give me a break. It only took you a minute to say you needed help. It took me a long while to decide what I
thought would help or hurt the site. Most of your comments were as simple as "I'll pay". Well that's one person in hundreds. They didn't take the time to
think about what the consequences of a subscription fee would be. I did. I even took the time to do some basic math to show why I believed that
subscription fees would be the end of the gardenweb. I think that shows I care!

As long as I have stated this much and you have treated me unjustly I might as well speak the rest of my mind. Rumor has it that a number of people
that you have ban contacted your advertisers complaining about you banning them. Might that have something to do with your "problem"?

BTW I have posted this here and not in a personal e-mail because I have written to you personally 2 or 3 times and have never received a reply. At
least here I am sure it will be read. And probably removed.

Well Spike good luck. I really do hope the GardenWeb survives. I am now ready to be sent to Disney and have my comments deleted again.

Hi Sari, Well he did ban you after all huh? Wonder if that other person was banned too? Glad you're not unhappy about it. Dave's is a much friendlier place anyway. Never felt I needed to keep my opinion to myself or walk around on tippy toes here. At least I'll know where to find all my great trading pals! ;) Joy

Very TRUTHFUL & honest comments coming from you SARI , SO apparently he has a distorted view on reality and cannot accept the truth ???? It is so sad to see a man become power hungry and spin out of control ; weak Napoleonic personalities seem prone to such censoring behaviour. I respect you AND Dave more than him anyday .
