We're having one in San Marcos, April 20th ~ for info on time, map, etc., go to this link (it's the one at the bottom): http://www.moment.net/~wingnut/swaps/swaps.htm I hope Kenny and I can attend, but I'm not sure yet. My friend Patty told me to have all ya'll who want to come just e-her beforehand or look her up when you get to the swap ~ tell her you're Wingnut's buddies from Dave's and she'll help you get settled in.
Info on what happens at a swap: http://www.moment.net/~wingnut/swaps/etiquette.htm

A brief history: Before Dave's, when I was slummin' at the G-Web, a group of us decided to get together in person and swap plants. It worked out so well that we decided to do it again and again and again! It's grown over the years to include anybody and everyone wants to come. When I hosted one at my house, I put up a website to make it easier to get info, maps and updates to everyone. The website has grown to include other swaps across Texas. There are a couple near Houston. Those are more G-Web related, but if you e-mail the contacts and tell 'em Wingnut sent ya', I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms! And I KNOW you'll talk up Dave's so we'll probably get some new recruits! LOL!
Wanna' come to a Texas plant swap?
Wingnut I enjoyed the tour - thanks so much and how nice it is to meet you!! You certainly looked as though you were all having a good time at your house, regardless of the weather. I'm sure it was a great day and the plants looked good too!!!! Like I said.......maybe next year :-)
DD and I were supposed to go to that one, and the rain was so bad, we decided against it. Next thing we knew, here were photos on the web, showing everyone ignoring the pouring rain and having a ball under a canopy. (Major roadways in San Antonio were flooded.) It sounded like a real wild time when Linda described it online for us later. I had read about some of the things people brought for her, like a nice set of rocks, and was so sorry to learn the floods tore everything up. What a trooper she must be, just picking up the pieces and rebuilding it all. Imagine a nursery with her in charge!
