gorgeous!!! Kyle, now you see why we keep talking about double pinks!!!!!!!!!!! although this seems to have a peachy rose to it? That's my ideal color, a peachy rose double.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Tig,
There is a German site that has really PINK doubles that are candida hybrids, like a bright pink flower in a flower(hose in hose) :-)

Eclipse, are you refering to Kirchner-Abel.

There has been some controversy over whether some of these double pinks exist on some of the European sites.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

brugcrazy thats the site. :-) Pretty doubles..guess I'll have to come out of retirement this summer and get started on some double candida type crosses.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Beautiful Monika - you just keep outdoing yourself!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

way to go Kyle!!! someone in this group is going to do it this year, I know it.
Jeanne, are you saying that some people think those double pinks are fake? I sure wish we could order from them, but as far as I know they still aren't shipping to US, correct?

I just know there has been controversy over a few double pinks in Europe, I'm not saying it's that nursery. I can't remember all of the details. Getting old. LOL

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh, I didn't think you meant them or just them. It's bad enough that we're sitting here wanting these, I want them to be real LOL!!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

tiG..patience is a Virtue!!!we'll get there..... :-)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i don't fly but i were going to it would certainly be to visit all those beautiful brugs in germany. btw, eclipse, wishing you luck and glad you're coming out of retirement! didn't you hybridize jamaican yellow? sunray and....?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

There is indeed much doubt if these pink doubles on that website exist. If they do, there is even more doubt about who is the breeder.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The plants on the Kirchner - Abel site are claimed to be candidas but there are NOT. The only candida - like cross is my Rosa Zauber with much aurea Type, as the mother is aurea Rothkirch. We know the Kirchner - Abel plants only from large pictures in garden magazines, placed in 2000 as World hit. They are not for Sale. Kirchner - Abel told us last year that do not root at all and if they do, the growth is not more as 10cm in a year. Therefore they will be always a rarity. That the translation from their web site. Make your own mind about it! The above seedling has a strong orange touch while Rosa Zauber is a true pink. But I think that it still is a beautiful color and can always be improved by breeding to EP.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Monika, I don't know who does your photography, but just staring at that picture again, the flower is stunning, but the picture is also a work of art. You both do great work.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

It is breathtaking, even my DH loved that one...

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

These are color slides. I dont use a digital camera because of the false colors. Book and magazine printers prefer color slides or good paper pictures.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Monika, that is really beautiful. Thanks for showing that to us. We are all drooling.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Monika, if you took that picture, you are as good a photographer as you are hybridizer.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

both the photography and the subject are gorgeous.

Kyle, I wish you great success when you come out of retirement, and look forward to seeing your creations :)
