Cousins - stranger than fiction

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Well another cousin has turned up and it continues to amaze me in the fashion that I am finding them. Jo, roadrunner, is in Florida visiting Sami and was looking over her shoulder while Sami was on the computer doing some research on her family tree. Jo noticed there was a Needham Bryan listed and emailed me wanting to know if there was any relations. I looked in my family tree and he is there. First cousin 6 times removed. It that amazing or what. Well cousin Jo and cousin Sami are not only good friends they are related in some fashion. Is this Dave's for growing plants or cousins?

here we are- The GRC Gang

My wife said I better be finding some men kissing cousins. It looks mighty strange to keep finding only females. Hehe Don't tell her I planned it that way.

...if she was looking over your shoulder then, ya know she's gonna read this!

Obviously the love for gardening is an inherited family thing.

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

grc do you have any Crowleys in your family tree?

Harford County, MD(Zone 6b)

My goodness Jim, our family tree just keeps growing by leaps and bounds. Now if there are any Houcks, Grogans,or Blacks on here, we might find some more....
Gin

Well we sure have Houcks here, went to school with our kids' Sis'

Crossville, TN

Oh! Sis...Where are you from...I am a HOUCK on BOTH sides of my family tree! Maybe that explains why I am so "weird"!!

Sami and I have been best friends for 24 years...and I love her like a sister! Now I find that she is related to me!!

OH! HAPPY DAY! Jo

That's funny RR,small world hugh? I'm in Kansas'

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Well my goodness another Cousin. Welcome to the family Sami. We where already friends now we are family. But Jim I am not sure are you calling us strange? lol

Crossville, TN

Hi Jim Sami here. The Roach name is my great grandfathers name but William Roach married Celia Bridget Bryan who was Needham Bryan and Susanna Harrell daughter.. I get info all the time about the Roach geneology on the Roach family. One person says he has research concerning the Bryan line all the way back to the 10th century in England and Ireland. We also have Needham Bryant Roach in my family too.
Any way not sure we are related in some way or not. But we will claim we are. LOL. Sorry to here that you cant come and join our little get together next weekend here in Florida. Would love to have you. Sami

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

mystic I don't have any strange cousins.LOL Only pretty sweet ones here on Dave's.

Crossville, TN

Wouldn't it be funny if it ended up that we were all kin to Grannylois...and Dave and Trish??? LOL

Cousin Jim, just so your DW doesn't think you're the only rooster in this hen house, LizH is not the "cousin",but her DH, Warren Hayse H is...brother to Ginlyn and Sgtdot, and Sister-in-law to my sister!! She is so nice that we let her be our "cousin", instead of "cousin-by-marriage"!!

Any more cousins out there that I don't know about yet??

Jo

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Sami, I have the Bryan line back to the 10th cetury England and Ireland. Was DeBriene instead of Bryan then.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

....Salters, Smiths, Luzader, Oldner, Hill, or Jackson??

This is so funny, I was searching through some message boards last night and ran across a Needham Bryan, a member of a founding family of Ouachita Valley, Louisiana. He is on page 19 of a book written by E. Russ Williams, Jr. in 1996.I
I remembered seeing his name here. Ouachita Parish is where I was born, and I dated a Bryan from Union Parish, but didn't follow the thread to see if it was the same family.

Crossville, TN

Goodness! Sami and GRC will "NEEDham" to jump on this clue!

That is a name that only a family would pass on down through the "branches". Jo

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I was totally surprised when it jumped off the screen at me, but figured it was meant for me to find it so I can sort of hang in the wings. The book is "Encyclopedia of Founding Families of Ouachita Valley of Louisiana 1785-1850".

Awww Eyes, someone here must be related to you in some way.

Crossville, TN

Yeah, Eyes...I'm now declaring my self your "Cousin by Love"!! Jo

Wigan, Landcashire, United Kingdom

And my avenue is named after the roach family, mind you the next street is called sole, so may be named after fish. LOL

Don't know about the rest of you, but I am lonesome. I am going to start a thread and see if I can find some relatives at DG to keep me company. "Boo Hoo"! Wish me luck or I might be trying to get adopted by Georgiaredclay and all of his cousins on this thread.

Crossville, TN

Batchelor, LA(Zone 8b)
