I just got one that said that they had information that I'd requested.

Never requested anything.

I got an e-mail and opened it. It included an url for a site that started loading immediately without clicking on it. It was a kiddie porn site. I couldn't close it, X it off or get away from it without closing my computer down. Then the next time I went to my e-mail there it was again. So I tried deleting it before it could open the porn site, to no avail. Finally I learned that I could change my e-mail sedttings so that it didn't show what was in the e-mail below the listing of which ones were in the in-box. Then I could delete it. It was nightmare. Now I only have a list of what's waiting in the in-box but not the content of each one as I click on them. If I don't recognize a name or site, I delete it sight unseen.

Start saving at least the URL if not eddress and turn it in to the offending ISP or FBI. Past and present members of the Garden Web fora were spammed until the person was caught, or so goes the rumors. Dave, what is the rule around here? I know that you do not allow direct harvesting of email addies from Dave's G, so are the above commentors just of few of thousands of recepients?

Woodspirit, that sounds very like the Russian kiddie porn I had earlier this month. If you get any details perhaps you could put it on the Computer Forum? The porn that I had went on for about 6 days or so. If you look through the Computer Forum you'll see a lot of postings about it. I ended up with a lot of Block Senders. This isn't very nice so I wish you every good luck with it. I hear that justmeLisa's computer has crashed and is being repaired. Mine's a bit temperamental at the moment as well.
