hehehe
our introductions
I must confess I am all ears now Eclipse. I don't suppose you have a copy of his work you would be willing to share here? Heck, I would love to download it to a cd for a quick glance. Kind of like reading the last book I had in German on Brugmansia though I expect...I simply gazed dumbfounded at the pictures for hours on end each day, unless of course I had a new seedling unfolding and then of course I was glued to the seedling.
Hi, I'm Dee, I live in the Florida panhandle and have not been on this site long (2 months). I had one brug that was a yellow last year. When I got it was just labeled "yellow angel trumpet", but got it anyway cause I liked the name. After seeing it bloom, I started doing some searchs to get more info on it and low and behold I was stunned with the pictures that I saw. I traded for a few cuttings them someone told me I might like this site. I don't say much here, just do alot of reading. I have a few cuttings thanks to the generous people here. All my cuttings are doing well, so I tried my hand at seeds, sad to say not much luck with the seeds, so I will probably stay with cuttings, which I haven't killed (yet!). I like organization, and somehow I just end up organizing things. My kids call it an obcession. I have one grandson (3 years) and he is my joy. He likes to help me 'plant'. My husband is in the Military so I have moved around a bit, but we are here to stay. I am from South Miss originally, and I have found there is nothing like the south.
John, I see that jacobinia roped another brugaholic. I was looking for info on the jaco I had purchased. Somewhere in the info, it mentioned seed swapping and I decided that sounded like fun. The rest is history. By the way, how is the jaco doing?
catlady, the jaco is doing fine! Lots of new leaves, nice purplish shade to the undersides... It is anxious to get outside and keep some hostas company! I believe jaco, and your Brug (see, we're on-topic) were the first cuttings I've ever successfully rooted, [save Coleus (and Basil) in water]. Thanks, John
Good for you John. See, you were meant to be a brugaholic, or that one little cutting would have never rooted for you. It was meant to be!!!!!!!!
I admit it, I confess, I am a brugaholic. It started simply enough about 3 years ago when I saw a pic of one in Park Seed. Ordered. Killed it. Saw an ad in local paper for Angel Trumpet the next year. Bought one. Expensive. It bloomed, oh did it bloom! Then I discovered this site, and learned more. Then somehow I got hooked up with this catlady person and Kartuz & Lochroma, and Mr. Owen who sent me stuff, and I want more, more, more! Sorry, sorry, will control myself now.
Don't try to blame me!!!!!!!!!
HELLO, My name Is Daniel Hernandez I was born in Aguascalientes Mexico. I brought a cutting of my first Brugmansia From there 'White Lady'. I now have 6 varieties all of wich were donated by Gardeners in the Web. I have not started any seeds but I am hopeing I will Soon. I was brought to this site by Parandacada, He is a really great person. I am really gratefull to him he has helped me with seeds and plants to start my garden. I am 14 years old and started gardening well takeing care of my first Brug at the age of 8 and that Is pretty much it. I wish I can find a lot of friends in this site. Right now I am feeling a little lonely because I don't know anyone but i hope that changes soon.

don't worry Daniel. We all started without knowing many, but just keep jumping in. I came here and didn't know a soul. Now they're my best friends.
It is such a pleasure to see a young man take such an interest in gardening.....especially brugs.....we welcome you to our group...I would love to know how you became interested in brugs....
Suzy
Well I've now added many varieties of brug seeds to my collection thanks to Snowhermit, Owen, Callalily and now I just received arborea seeds from Gwist in Sweden.
Yall have me hooked on tryin brugs from seeds. Every day a seed package arrives my son goes "Oh Mom not more seeds!!" and then I tell him..."duh, yeah more seeds!!"
I have 2 flats of brug seeds planted and saved some just in case I mess up with the first batch. I give them a warm comforter at night, a heated blanket under the pot to keep the lil babies warm. When I grow up i want to be just like TiG and have 100% germination rate.
Since they are just in their first trimester I let them sleep in my bed and sing to them..."Grow lil baby brug seeds grow, mommy want to see you sprout."
I asked my son and my brother to move some furniture so I can use the spare room as a brug nursery. I don't know why they left the house. I was planning to paint the room a neutral brug color or maybe I will paint in yellow, peach, white, and red...stripes might look good.

I got hooked to brugs when I saw pictures of them here at Dave's, way back in the begining. Got several cuttings, nursed them along, but must have done somthing wrong, cause only 2 of them bloomed, so I was disenchanted and left them outside on the advice of someone, I did bring the bloomers inside just in case I lost the ones outside, I also have a couple of cuttings in water. Now I'm looking to expand my brug collection I would like a double of anything, and wishing for a greenhouse, but until I get one, the dining table, counters and my bathtub will have to do. (last year I wintered some brugs in my bathtub....course I couldnt take a bath all winter - lol)
I look forward to reading all the posts, seeing everyones pictures of their brugs, I love the pictures.
cheers!
