Need info on a "Home and Garden Show"

What is this "Home and Garden Show" that was nominated and subsequently voted on by almost every DG member?

Is this an event put on by a particular organization, or is it just a generic type of event?

Can anyone shed some light? They are going to win our award, and I need to know if there is an actual company who needs to get credit for this.

I was thinking of it in a generic sense....every large community that I've lived in or near has a "Home and Garden Show" in late winter/early spring.

Anybody else?

Dave,
Even though my vote was the Philadelphia Flower Show (I'm partial..lol)..there is still a Home and Garden Show in the area near me, Fort Washington. It's a generic-type yearly garden show with plant displays, clinics, vendors, etc.. Sometimes these are held at Expo centers, like the Horse Expo Show, the Train Expo Show but they call the garden one the Home and Garden Show, and these are all held at the same place but at different times of the year.

Dave the Home & Garden Show is a TV show that features home & garden shows. EG: The Victory Garden, House & Home, This Small Space, The Indoor Gardener, Martha Stewart, Kitchens & Baths, Pools, Patios & Cannot remember the other thing?

Here the Home & Garden Show is Channel 35 and my most favourited channel.

gardendragon: it's a TV show or an entire TV channel?

I just chose it because it is an annual local event held at our civic center - not as a television show.

It looks like that's what most are saying. That's what we'll go with - a generic award to all Home and Garden Show local events.

Okay, I had to chuckle....Gardendragon, I think you're referring to "HGTV" - a U.S. cable channel dedicated to home and gardening shows. And it originates from Knoxville, Tennessee - just a few miles from Dave! It certainly IS a small, small world!!!!

Here's a link for Home and Garden Television:

I drive past the HGTV/DIY building every time I drive into Knoxville. It's surrounded by tall barbwire fences, and has an enormous parking garage (presumably for employees).

For just a cable channel TV show, they sure do have a big and pretty building!

go_vols & Dave, OK my face is RED!

Did not know the Home & Garden TV show originated in Tennessee. One always seems to assume that everything comes from the "Big Apple" New York? or failing that Toronto, Ontario, when, as many movies are made in British Columbia as in Hollywood?
Our pittafull dollar makes it attractive to shoot movies here in Canada and BC is called 'Hollywood West'.

Oh, Gardendragon - I truly didn't mean to embarass you - I just had to grin at the way things come full circle sometimes.

Did you ever see the Wizard of Oz? At the end, Dorothy vows (and I paraphrase badly) - to look for treasure in her own back yard instead of searching the world over (something to that effect....)

So here's Dave, trying to track down what we all meant when we nominated and voted for "Home and Garden Show", and you (unwittingly), pointed him in the direction of his own backyard.

HGTV sponsors a Home and Garden Show in Knowville. It's got something to do with the Dogwood Arts Festival. Homebuilders, landscapers and all kinds of home oriented things are there.
