Quite a while ago I sent bulbs to someone and they were going to send me a return when the time was right. I know I have blown some trades, so I wouldn't feel bad if someone wrote me saying "where is my trade!" But that's me. Should I write to remind them, or just let it go?
Etiquette
If I was the one who had forgotten, (Am I?), I would want to be reminded. Sometimes things can be forgotten or misplaced, and I would definitely want to know if I had done that. I say send a friendly email and see what happens.
no, it wasn't you, but thanks because I really think that's what I should do.
Uh, oh, that could be me also. I just remembered I owe someone for the cannas they sent me. Seems that I am supposed to send them Naked Lady bulbs. Gosh, I hope I can remember who that was. If you see this and I owe you please save me the effort of looking back over a thosand notes or emails. Shame on me for being so careless. And shame on my memory for not remembering that.
Yes, I think most of us would prefer having someone to just send a friendly reminder. I used to make hard copies of all my trading. Then my printer started acting up so I gave up on it. Then I relied on my memory to later go back at the appropriate time and complete the trade. Now let's see, where in the world would that email be?

i say remind them-is it me? I forget sometimes-I try to write all my trades down-but sometimes i may forget-so anyone I may owe-give me a "yell".
ok, I'll send a reminder. Thanks.
Remind them in a nice way - we're all so busy and forgetting something would be really easy.
Here's what we tell new traders about these sticky situations: http://davesgarden.com/trading_primer/6/
If it was me, I would want to know (hope it wasn't, but if it is, PLEASE tell me!)
I have some trades that I didn't put in my trade tracker (shame on me.) And boy did I blow it! I practically had to tie a string around my finger to remember to send a peony plant to one member - thank goodness my conscience kept nudging me to send it!)
And I owe another (northern) member some plants as soon as she thaws out in the spring. A couple seed orders got lost in the holiday shuffle. Bad, bad, bad Terry :( I tried to get in contact with those I owed, and I think I'm caught up now (except for the one "up north" - we agreed to wait until spring.)
I think I'm like most folks - with three little kids and one BIG one (read: husband), and life in general, occasionally things slip through the cracks, and I would feel awful if someone was "suffering in silence" - much better to get a nice (or even pointed) nudge from them!
I am just waiting for that message. LOL
Terry, I messed up a northern trade, somehow had it in my mind that she was in TX and fall would last long enough. And then just the other day I sent seeds that I'd waited on to dry but then just kept forgetting to send. Hope she got them. If I've missed others, it wouldn't shock me, just embarrass me. I'd want to be reminded.
How about the time you (me, really) sent a note saying, "gee, I'm so sorry I forgot to send you so and so" and they write back saying huh? It's not me, babe. oh *%#@+##*!
oh no!!! what was it?? someone here has it surely and would love to share. I know that's not the point, but still....
It is so easy to forget a trade - I save all my emails in a "garden" folder on the puter to refer to. Also Dave has made it really easy to keep up using the "Trade-Tracker". This is a wonderful tool for us. I try to enter them as soon as I have the SASE, or ship the trade so I won't forget who gets what!! If you haven't tried it, you should, you will find it at the right of your page in the "box".
If I have "forgotten" anyone, please let me know.

If I have forgotten anyone, I sure would like to hear from them too. I certainly don't ever intend on forgetting someone, but I can see how it would happen.
