Brugmansia, see the other thread about Iochromas---the first hyperlink has several pics, including some with fruits. I've been talking with someone in CA who grows these plants, and he's going to try to save me some seeds from I. grandiflora. He seemed to think we here in the South would have trouble growing them because of our heat and humidity, rather like the B. sanguineas.
The Iochroma have arrived
Hello..... anyone listening to me!!!!LOL
I have grown these guys and they do grow here in our heat and humidity. I have the same ones Rich posted on Yahoo.
Gloria
Hey Glory, I'm listening, tried to go to the Yahoo site.
I signed myself up and still could never get to the site I wanted. They kept telling me to click here and I just kept going around in circles. If there's good info there,
I'll go back and try again. Thanks.
hi Glory!!! if you have cuttings, I know these would go over big at the swap!!! hint hint, and remember who listened!!! :)
Thank you.....I thought my computer wasn't hooked up to DG anymore. LOL
The mother plants are in the ground and have died back just like the Brugs do but I will take cuttings next summer for one and all.
Tig...I have one small pot of either the little white flower or the purple...can't remember right now but it's yours for listening to me. LOL
Catlady....Since you are not going to the plant swap....I'll try and get you one started.....I agree Yahoo is the hardest thing to try to sign on to.
trying to find something wonderful for you at the plant swap is going to be my biggest challenge!!
tiG,
A double pink Brug would be just fine. LOL
You know I enjoy sharing plants...if I never got one in return I'd still share what I have.
waaaaaaaaah, my power was out and I missed it!!
Don't worry Cala by this time next year we'll have Iochromas coming out of our ears. LOL
Gloria, what color is your iochroma? If I can grow them I'll have cuttings for Royal Blue and Indigo for anyone who wants them later in the summer or whenever they are big enough to take the cuttings. Also wondered how big I can expect these to get in Iowa. I know I'll have to keep cuttings for next year.
Will take real good care of my wine and purple (when they arrive) will grow like brugs and watch this thread for more information! And when all of ours make it, will share.
Diane, you mean those plants haven't arrived yet? They went out priority last Sat. I thought that meant 3-4 days.
LMK when and in what shape. I should have sent by pony express.
Gloria, I will take you up on that offer and put your name on a red or purple. I sure wish I could make it to that plant swap, I'll be thinking about you all and all the fun!
Cala, I received the brug seeds, sorry if I haven't already let you know. Stop crying now because I will put your name on cuttings also.
TiG, Would never forget you. Now ladies, chant along with me, 'These plants will live and grow, these plants will live and grow.' So far they are still looking good.
I read somewhere that they grow to six feet, maybe Miss vonBatt, she has really researched these plants. If this is true, should have lots of cuttings. Now don't forget that chant.
Pam
'These plants will live and grow, these plants will live and grow.'
'These plants will live and grow, these plants will live and grow.'
'These plants will live and grow, these plants will live and grow.'
'These plants will live and grow, these plants will live and grow.'
'These plants will live and grow, these plants will live and grow.'
'These plants will live and grow, these plants will live and grow.'

I can feel the good vibs already! I'm going to move them over to the computer table so they can see all the people that are cheering for them. With this kind of support, I know they will make it. Thanks guys! Pam
