hi all

have you seen the news re Belfast and other major towns and cities? I can almost guess that it doesnt get covered over there in N America and the rest of the world

just in case it doesnt get shown here's what happened.

factories,schools and stores closed to let 10s of 1000s of people hit the streets this afternoon to call for an end to mindless violence. these people are the complete opposite to the people who were rioting last week.

It is great to see the people joining together to speak out against the violence, it can't be easy given the history. I'm sure there is a long way to go yet but if the majority can be united and seen to be so, it might put paid the minority voices who have so far shouted the loudest and longest. The majority must now be heard.

Living through over 3 decades of violence in your own land is enough to break anyones heart. Lets hope that this is the beginning of the end and give the children of Belfast and other parts of Northern Ireland to be, a chance to know some peace.
