I have one of these. (styrax/storax). It has lichen on it. I read somewhere that when a tree gets lichen on it, it is getting too much sun. I don't think this is the problem......any ideas?

Lichen is harmless. Don't worry about it. However, if there's a LOT of it, it may signal that your plant is suffering from some disease problems. In that case, I'd contact your local extension service and bring in a sample for them to take a look.
