I just feel like crying...:/ I sent out one mass mailing to all my new friends at the Red Hat Ladies to tell them of my new email addy and get blocked from my site I spent hours on.

You all look as if you're having a really fun time. I have dozens and dozens of recipes. My mum used to have lots of tea-parties.
I'm being driven crazy by a teddy-bear. Was playing with some software and ended up with a teddy-bear stuck on my cursor. It was cute for the first couple of minutes. After that the amusement has definitely palled. Got to get rid of one teddy-bear...

I agree with Kathleen! Computer programmes are designed to show that the programme writer is much cleverer than you, and all messages displayed on your screen are designed to terrify you into thinking you've broken everything and it can't be repaired. 'Help' messages are specifically written to confuse you. Programmers who can't get a job writing actual programmes are employed in on-line 'Support' teams where they can do all this on a one-to-one basis.

(Except Dave, of course)

Support teams actually never hire programmers. I worked in tech support for Prodigy and IBM back in my late teens and believe me - idiots are hired by the truckload to work in these sweatshops.

Anybody with ANY knowledge of computers quickly leave and get real jobs.

And actual programmers... wouldn't dream of such a job.
