rooted cuttings

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

I have a flat of rooted cuttings if anyone wants them for postage.A friend brought me a bucket of cuttings a couple of months ago.Trouble is,he did not mark the cuttings, just dumped them all in a bucket. They are white, yellow and salmon
colored but there is no way to tell them apart.
I also have many more seedlings than I need for spring planting. These are from Valley Grow seed and are a mix of Earl's colored varieties.I need to save growing space for Crested Chick's,Brugman's and Arlene's seed.
One plant can usually go for 3.95 priority postage or three for 6.00.
Email me if you want some of these.Otherwise it's compost time.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i am sure someone will come by, JT...i didn't mail your baby with all the cold scare, could see it getting stuck in a cold truck somewhere..... is it cold there yet?

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Yes Arlene,it's miserable here.It will probably go to 15 here tonight. We had a light dusting of snow last night.
I wish all our Canadians would inhale deeply and suck this cold air back up that way.

JT,
I agree.....no snow here but it's dang cold. The temp is 75º in the greenhouse but walk outside and it's COLD!!....suppose to get into low 20's tonight...BURRRRRRRRR

Catoosa, OK(Zone 7a)

Hi,
I sent an email about the cuttings.
I don't know about you guys but I am definetly ready for spring. :-) I had a emergency with my heater in the greenhouse the other night. It went out and we couldn't get it to relight. I caught a repairman before he left for home. He worked on it till about 10 that night. I was so glad he got it fixed, and that he was nice enough to help. I had some electric heaters that keept everything from freezing but they would not have made it through the night. It has been getting down in the teens. TOO COLD!!!!

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

I also sent you an email about the cuttings.
Going to freeze here (Northwest Florida)tonight!

gonetoseed - I sent you a email regarding the cuttings you have. My Dad, before he passed away 1 1/2 years ago gave me my first brug cutting and I have been hooked every since. I love these plants and would like to have some other varieties. I am brand new to this site (just subscribed today). I believe I will learn alot.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

welcome!!!! it's nice to have you here, we hope you'll jump in and make yourself at home. You won't find a nicer group of people. What zone are you in?

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi, I live in Alvin, Texas (about 20 miles south of Houston). I am in zone 9, so I get to enjoy a long flower season. The summers are hot here (100 degrees in mid summer) and I have to place plants in the shade. The heat is even too much for some sun loving plants. I have only been here one day and I find it a wonderful place. I really look forward to visiting with all of you and exchanging plants and/or seeds.

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

gone2seed,
Can I come by and pick up some cuttings from you? My daughter is in Pensacola. I'm about an hour away from you. She's been wanting us to come down and I kinda been wanting to go.

Yep Gingerlily. We will have to exchange email and pick a time when I will be home.No way I am going to let Ann start giving away brug cuttings :>)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I think we should have a panhandle brug swap meet if more I10 brugies show up!

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Arlene,Pick a central location and set it up.It's a great idea.De Funiak Springs?Panama City?At DeFuniak we could go buy out Earl's when we finished trading.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

I don't have any brugs to swap yet (maybe some other plants could get me in?) but I think a panhandle swap meet would be a hoot. I was planning on going to Earls anyway.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Weeds, i am sure you have plants we'd be interested in. plant trades are great fun! met irish and his wife at one we had here in october. maybe earl would let us in on his not quite enough to sell stock....

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

If y'all get something good from Earl, you better share, lol. Wish we had thought of this a couple of weeks ago when I was closer.(and no snow on the ground)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

well, i think we have to plan on warmer weather, cala. waiting to see what the others say... maybe late feb/early march, whatever people want to do.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Good! This sounds like fun. Can Earl be bribed?

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

I love this! Let's do try to get together later on. Gone2seed, do you work outside your home or certain days or anything? We have our own homebased business, so I'm flexible. Just need to know your time limitations to plan when to come. Thanks

Hey,
What about us from the Mississippi Gulf Coast....we are only one and half hours from Pensacola....Where is Earls?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Gloria, Earl's is near Defuniak? he has a map of sorts on his site. Would love to meet you guys. Dee who just started posting is close to Valleygrow also, maybe the closest. I would vote for Saturday first.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Cala, pick me up on the way down!!!!!!!1

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

This sounds good to me too. I would love to meet and trade although I only have a couple of things. Earl's is a great place to go to, but you need to be ready cause he will talk your ear off, although my mom couldn't decide who was talking the most me or him (she thinks she's so funny). Saturday's would work best for me too, but I could always take leave during the week if need be. I think gingerlily might be closer than I am although we are both close to him.
Dee

Checked with Mapquest and DeFuniak is 191 miles from Biloxi/Gulfport MS. I'd love to meet y'all too. When are y'all planning to do this? I will be in Australia from March 27-April 11. Late Feb. or early March would be a great time to meet.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Gloria, you are 70 miles closer than i am.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Whaaaah!! I wanna move south. I feel soooooo alone way up here.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Well,if we got the northerners together,we could have a plant trade, everyone in the northeast. We could try to get people other than JUST brugheads, since theres not a heck of a lot of us up here, pick a central point, kinda like what they're doing,or, since its a panhandle get together,we could panhandle on the steets to collect enough money to fly down there......

CC,
you are so funny.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Am I the only brug head in the Midwest? I thought there were some from Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. Maybe we could all get together too. I tell ya, Iowa is for the birds.

Shirley,
"Come on down".

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I am from Michigan, Brugie. I think it's "notmartha" who is also from here. We would probably have to wait for good weather, since ours is so unpredictable. I do believe our winter is finally deciding to show up around here. I have vacation time....

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

CC, you are too funny, rofla again. i had a law student working for me once who asked for my kids to use panhandling, or you could use my DHs favorite sign "why lie, i need a beer"..he says he gave the guy a dollar everytime he saw him.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

WaterlooLily,

Sorry to hear that you are starting to get winter conditions. We are going to be in the mid fifties tomorrow, and I expect the ax to fall any day now. We have friends who live in Port Huron and they have had snow. At least we aren't worrying about frost hitting our brugs outside. All our friends down in the south-southeast have had a worse winter than we have had. :-(

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Arlene.... How far are you from Vally Grow???? would love to take a ride...

Pete,
How far are you from Valley Grow?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Irish, about 260 miles....my sis in crestview is about exactly 300 miles....4 hours is probably best time i could make.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

hmmmmmmm i'm looking at lease a 6 hour drive them thanks much

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I emailed Earl, will see what he says re date. Pete, it would be a long one. about 10 miles this side of defuniak...

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

OK...all the cuttings are now promised.I won't have more till spring unless someone doesn't send postage.
