SNOWING in NC

What a perfect day. The snow is coming down and it is beautiful. I put on my boots to walk down and get the mail and Bluestone Perennials is waiting for me. So, I get to read this perfect catalog and watch the snow come down. Life just doesn't get any better than this :-)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

enjoy the snow while you can...what fun for you. No snow
here - just the wet stuff

Surry, VA(Zone 7b)

Vic, you are soooo right! How much snow did you get?

Just a covering...but it does look like a Winter Wonderland and I'm enjoying it only because I know it will be gone soon. Just went downstairs to turn out my grow lights (I have a walk in crawl space accessible only from outside) and about landed on my ear when I walked on the deck. It is pretty but I hear Charlotte is getting hammered. Better them than us. Have you gotten any yet??????

Northern Piedmont, NC(Zone 7b)

It's been snowing here about 2 hrs. and we are predicted to get 6-12". Hmmmmm...last time I heard those numbers, we got almost 24". It really is beautiful tho.

Vic... Good for you! We haven't had the first snowflake here in Asheville (at a little after 11 PM)... and I/m sad we may have missed it. Looks like the snowfall falls just east of us...:(

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Folks, we're getting it!! and love it! It started around 6:30 or so. At about 9:30 we had nearly 2 inches! Here it is 12:30 a.m. and it's still coming down! Wonderful! Believe it or not, DD is out playing in it! It's her 8th birthday today and she's been happy as all getout all day, especially w/the snow prediction! The last good snow we had came in 2000, on my birthday! (JJsGarden, musta been the snow you mentioned!) And now, here it is HER BD and it comes again! Here I sit, the "shoffice" (shop/office) is a toasty 70+* with the wood stove working on some red oak, snow still coming down (DD happily playing in it), and mugs hanging by the heat warming up for some hot chocolate!
(Course now, tomorrow when I'm shoveling snow away from the sides of the greenhouse ya'll may be hearing a different perspective!)

Yep, Shoe, that was the Big One, around Jan. 18th. I think. So far this time, we have 9-10" on the ground and it is still coming down. Now if I can just find my snow boots, I'll go out and play and snap a few pictures. Best birthday wishes to your DD.

We are getting it here just north of Charlotte. Went out with my trusty little yard stick (my excuse to go out and play in it) and it looks like about 6 inches deep and still coming down! Great big huge flakes are falling and I am loving it!!! I am snowbound and have received a lot of seed and plant catalogs to look at while I watch the snow fall. What a wonderful way to spend the day! They say it will snow most of the day today, and again on Sunday.
LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Yee-hawww!! Shoveled snow from the sides of the g-house, it was really piled up there and pushing in on the plastic! DD is still playing in it, making an igloo! I've measured 8 inches on things around here (the trash can lids, the cars), and 2 to 4 more inches is expected this aft!
Louisa/margaret, is today your birthday? So nice to see someone else sings to themself! (Or have you been in Bert's slugbait?) ;>)
Have fun everybody, playing in the snow SnoW SNOW!!

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Sorry MARGARET! DD's name is Alex (I'm thinking it's safe to say that here!) And right now she's thawing out her feet on the wood stove and fixing her some hot chocolate. Want some? You'll hafta come out from under that bed tho. And leave them dustballs under there!

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)
