HELP!!! the GH heater is on the fritz

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

OK all you folks that are handymen/women. We have a 2 year old 250,000 BTU gas heater in the fern house. This morning, the air was smokey and the heater was all covered with soot. We called a repairman (@$25 just to stop by) and he said the heater isn't drawing. We replaced the pipes with new ones and it still isn't working right. Does anybody have a clue as to why? We checked it a few minutes ago and it still isn't working properly. It's keeping the house warm, but covering everything in there with soot.(plus it stinks)

I have no idea what you should do. I would be mighty upset too if I was you. I hope you get it fixed soon though. How cold is it there? Would you be able to heat it enough with heat lamps and electric heaters until you can get the gas heater fixed? Even if you had to squish the ferns together and only heat a smaller portion of the greenhouse?

Nothing stopping up the vent. It's worked perfectly up till now and we don't have a clue.
