I took a comforter to the dry cleaners. It faded and shrunk. I didn't notice it when I picked it up. I bought the comforter at Penneys and it wasn't that expensive. However, the shams, valances and dust ruffle that match were expensive. I also have a wallpaper border and coiffured (sp?) sponge painted ceiling that coordinates with the set. I am sure that Penneys no longer carries this comforter. I did call the dry cleaner and they told me to the bring the comforter in. What should I "try" to demand from them?

Can you call Penneys and make sure they don't carry it? Perhaps they might give you the name of the buyer and there may be a chance they can give you a number from the source they buy those quilts from. Never know, that pattern may still be produced, but not necessarily sent to Penneys anymore if they don't carry them. It's a long shot, but never know! Doris
Doris - thanks! I will check with them. Last night a friend of mine said she has had several problems with these cleaners. They have been in business a long time and that is why I went to them versus another cleaner. GRRRRR.
The dry cleaners carry insurance for boo boos like this. If you still have your receipt have the dry cleaners pay you for it. If no receipt,tell the cleaners the cost and they should be liable for the cost of your comforter. You should receive some compensation from the cleaners on this sort of thing. Need to talk to management about this tho or the head office of the dry cleaners.
Is fieldcrest/cannon the manufacturer for Penney's linens? If so try http://www.fieldcrestcannonoutlet.com. They have a toll free number if you don't see what you are looking for. Another place you might check is http://www.linensource.com. They also have a toll free number. I hope this helps.
