Finalle, the new year is here..

Cool, here was very beautiful and great fireworks, and it is too cold. I'mso jealous for you who live in Australia, South Africa, Chile, Florida... Anyway, now it's 2002 here, has been for 20 minutes. =)

I'm not in Florida but today was a nice 45 (altho down to 22 this morning). Your snow pic tells me you should at least be out having fun sledding or something!

Happy New Year to you and your family Evert! We still have several hours to wait of course. So, what did you do and what did you eat? Any more pretty holiday dishes? LOL I am sure you will have another eventful year. Keep us informed. :)

Hmmm...now that's a pretty good question Preg, uh, Badseed. Sorry. Evert, ya'll have any traditional dishes you usually eat for new years over there? (Here it is usualy black eye peas, collard greens, etc.) (Oh yeh, and in the morning when you wake up, before you say anything else you must holler "rabbit!"...it gives you "good luck" the rest of the year.
Badseed, whatcha doing thinking about food anyway, feeding two or something!?

Hmm, we had chestnuts, salad (which I made), potatoes, grapes, chocolate, wine, pommac, etc... I really loved the fireworks.

Happy New Year, Evert! In central Texas, we have a severe weather warning tonight, snow flurries and icy rain late tonight. Not enough to have any winter sports, just enough to make driving hazardous. And it was bitter cold last night and most of today. Worse than that, we have the pollen from the blueberry juniper tree blowing all over the place, and many, many people, including me, are highly allergic to it. I will take an antihistamine pill again tonight, soon, and go to sleep. It's the only way to deal with the allergy discomfort. Feels like the flu! So maybe you won't need to feel jealous of the more temperate zones. Next summer, the insects will complete the picture, since there is never enough cold weather to kill them or reduce the numbers, and the huge grasshoppers will strip my plants of leaves and kill many of them. I love the milder climate, but there are definitely some drawbacks.

Evert, are you up yet? LOL It will be New Year's here in twenty minutes. :)
