Thinking of you at Christmas

All the presents are wrapped, and the hour is late,
As I sit all alone Christmas Eve.
I'm thinking of loved ones, of surprises and gifts,
And I'm happy to give, not receive.
But some gifts are not packaged, indeed, they don't seem
To be gifts when they first start
In the smile of a friend or the words that we send
That will gladden a lonely heart.
I'm off to bed now, the hour is late,
But I don't feel alone or forsaken.
Soon you'll return, and you'll find this wish
To greet you when you awaken.
