OH Mark we havent got to bed. It is X-mas Eve. Santa can not come yet, my son is still at work LOL
I saw him heading towards the west as I arrived home about an hour ago. at the speed Rudolf and the gang can run he should hit the east coast of the US in about 4 hours.
Mark
I got lots of stuff. I didn't really ask for anything, but I got:
A Happy Habits Nun, a gold and diamond cross necklace and a card that said I get my choice of garden benche/swing when they come out in the spring, from DH. He said he couldn't find any this time of the year. LOL!
A Nike sweatshirt from my step-son and step-daughter.
A knife set, soup bowls with chickens on them, and two ceramic chickens from one of my daughters
A huge thing of popcorn and a jigsaw puzzle from my other daughter.
A basket with flavored coffees, two mugs, a candle and cookies in it, plus a neat clear glass jalapeno pepper full of margarita mix from my step-son and his girlfriend.
A Hallmark Angel Christmas ornament and a $100 bill from my Mother-in-Law.
And, we still have tomorrow with the rest of the family.
I've been truly blessed this Christmas.

Joan, I could send your name to a catalog I get that features garden furniture, and you would have yet another wish book to get you through the snow months. You have a very merry Christmas morning, sounds like you have a good start already.
Gosh Joan Santa thought you had been really good this year!
Mark what is a lightning ball?
Haven't opened my presents yet as they are over my Mothers house, present openng will be at about 2pm. I did open one from my brother which is a fleecy gillet :) No socks as yet but I'm sure there will be LOL
What is a fleecy gillet?
You may know it as a vest, its a sort of waistcoat which does up at the front.
Aimee, please do submit my name for the garden furniture catalog. I'm excited about getting this. Thank you.
I have more than one, but the one I have been drooling over lately is Plow and Hearth. I crave the glider on page 62, but there are other things I could certainly make a place for, no sweat. If you already get this one, let me know. And I will pull out some others in the next few days.
It might be faster for you to request it online! Go to www.plowhearth.com.

Joan, the first three catalogs I checked, which have things I want, are in the Watchdog database. In addition to the above named, Gardener's Supply Co. and Gardeners Eden have garden furniture. I still haven't come to the one with the huge supply of teak, etc, and it is the one with the largest selection, but it is really pricey. Some simple looking but exotic wood chairs are in the thousands. I know I would never be likely to order from them, so they don't get a position on the nightstand. I have ordered from these two, and maybe from Plow, but it has been awhile. Maybe you can provide comment for the Watchdog on the one you choose. I will look for others in my stacks, it's a long time til spring.
Looks like you are all doing really well. Joan will your family adopt me?
Joan, I got a knife set, too! Paring knife, chefs knife, bread knife and 2 others PLUS a sharpener AND scissors, all in a wooden knife block.
Sheesh. I sound like an infomercial.
I also got a pair of stretch knit pants from LLBean, a new novel by Isabel Allende (from #1 daughter), the script of a play I love (from #2 daughter), black jelly beans (from #1 son), good n plenty's (from #2 son -- what can I say? I love licorice and they know it) and a handmade macaroni wreath (from #3 son and his very patient 4th grade teacher).
The puppy keeps trying to (1) drink all the water out of the Christmas tree stand, and (2) eat pine needles. The cat keeps climbing up inside the tree and jumping down through the lights and ornaments. I give the tree MAYBE 24 hrs, max.
I've got my sausage and meatballs simmering away on the stove. We'll have homemade cavatelli when daughter #2 gets home from work at 1 p.m., then we're going to see Lord of the Rings.
suky
I didn't ask for anything, so I got more than I asked for. :)
I got four happy little girls too. What more could I ask for??
Merry Christmas.
Michele
Thanks Aimee for the catalog information. I'll go to the sites and request the catalogs. That would be easier.
It sounds like everyone is having a good Christmas.
I got some money from my mom and bought myself a scanner, DBF will give me some money tomorrow for christmas but other than that, I didn't get anything :o(
I didn't expect anything. Everyone here has been struggling and with two new babies, I wanted everything to go there. DH and I knew our money had to go other places. But that was fine with me. So I was extremely surprised when DH begged me to open a box before we went to DD this morning. I have a lovely 2' fairy for my garden. She's just beautiful. And I know he didn't spend much so that made it even better! Then DD bought me a little girl about 6-8" tall for the garden and both new parents went in together and got a 6" statue of 2 little girls under a mushroom. I had a fabulous Christmas!!! Both babies were here, I only wish my northern baby could have been. But other than that, I didn't burn the rolls, the turkey was soooo good, MaVie's recipe!! and no one threw anything. A success if I may say so :)
Thanks Mark, I'm always worried to touch those although I know you don't get a shock from them.
Well, I got some money, a water bottle with a furry tiger cover, a crewl work set with cornflower pattern, a craft set to create illuminated note cards, modelling clay and some of the most awful undergarments you can imagine, at least this year they aren't of a furry material! LOL
Had a wonderful Christmas...For the garden I got two plant stakes with flowers on them, an outdoor thermometer with flowers on it, a St. Francis statue for the garden, a birdhouse, 3 gardening magazines with a gift certificate for Barnes & Noble and I plan to get - "From Seed to Bloom" and "Making More Plants" and a COMPUTER so I can stay in touch with DG. This one is on it's last leg. The best part though, was being able to talk to all the kids and grandkids on Christmas morning. Of course it would have been wonderful to be together but at least they are all happy, healthy, and safe and celebrating Christmas with those that love them as much as we do. Thank God for Ma Bell :-) Happy New Year - vic
HAD A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS! WE ALL OPEN OUR GIFTS AT OUR HOUSE. MY DD AND SIL BRING MAKAYLA'S OUT TO OUR HOUSE EARLY AND WE TELL MAKAYLA SANTA COMES AND BRINGS ALL HER THINGS HERE! CHRISTMAS IS FOR KIDS SHE WAS A RIOT!!!!!!!!!OH, SHE'S 3!
Yes, I did get what I wanted, at least mostly. My FIL is still with us (he has an inoperable aneurism in his abdomen, and he wouldn't have another surgery even if the surgeons were willing to try.) My oldest neice and nephew got to spend Christmas Eve with the family, even though their dad (my BIL) didn't make it this year (bad, ugly divorce situation there - the one dark blot on an otherwise lovely holiday.) We gathered with all my inlaws on Christmas Eve, had a wonderful dinner, and the youngsters got to open their gifts from Memaw and Papaw, and aunts and uncles.
My own kids loved their gifts from us and they were very appreciative (which I'm especially thankful for), and DH surprised me with a cell phone because he worries about me being out with the kids without one. It's a gift I had refused to buy for myself, but I'd have to say I'm very grateful he chose it for me. We had a second, quieter gathering of relatives yesterday afternoon at our home. I'm bummed that my parents couldn't be with us this year, but everyone is home safe, sound and warm, with snow flurries are predicted for tonight, so what more could I ask for? ;0)
I really didn't expect to get anything for Christmas this year with everything else going on but I did get a EQ4 program, a lot of bath products, and perfume.
My Hubby got me a digital camera. Now I just have to learn how to use it!
Mary E, that is so wonderful you got digital camera and I am sure you are happy =)
I got a wonderful Irish wool sweater. When Mama visited Ireland this summer, she Christmas shopped. An Irish linen sweater and a Waterford Crystal christmas ornament.(from the Waterford factory in Ireland)My best friend in Norway sent me a set of steak knives with red chili pepper handles.
I got a glass tomato christmas ornament from my little sis,and a snowman bird feeder from my niece and nephew.A book on fabric dyeing and a book on antique glass.
DH is shopping for a greenhouse for me,but we haven't found the right one yet.Besides, that will have to be birthday too..and it won't be for over a month yet.
I got the most wonderful things--#1 DS and his fiancee got me 2 harmonicas, 1 in the key of "G" and the other in "F". (I'm learning to play, got tedious in the key of "C" all thet time). #2DS and his fiancee gave me a $50.00 gift certificate from Johannsen's, my most favorite garden center, plus another $20.00 to spend at the music store. #3 DS and the Spouse got me the very best gift of all--3 of the 44 inch long hayrack planters from Kinsman gardens!!!! They will go under my living room windows come spring. They are so heavy that I told Spouse that they would probably pull the house down. (My secret wish, as my new planters are much more modern than this almost 100 year old farmhouse. :>) All in all, a wonderful day.
