Manhatten Steamroller recording

southeast, NE

Have any of you heard their recording where it sounds like God is talking? I heard it for the first time on the radio today and it just sent chills down my spine. A man's voice in this recording talks about being with people during the differnt things that happened as a result of September 11, i.e. being with the mother when her son called and said he wasn't going to make it out of the building, etc. I think I will go buy the cd.

I have the newest one and it is Christmas music, will have to listen to it again, but I do not think it had anything like what was described. It is nice, but not as good as their first 2 (in my opinion)

then I'll wait til I get a bit more money, thanks Marcia!

Hmmmm - I heard it on the radio and was sure they said it was Manheim Steamroller. Though, now that I think of it, I do believe they make their Christmas album in the summer (before September 11). The reason I think this is because I know of some kids who got to help do some behind the scenes work. They produce this album in Omaha. So, possibly, this is something they put together for a concert or it may be a single they released. (Or maybe I imagined hearing this.)

Jewel, I have heard it several times, every time I do I just weep...it is so touching

You might want to check out half.com at http://www.half.com after a bit. Christmas CD's seem to pop up in the months following the holiday since a lot of people make copies of their CD's and sell the originals, or they just found they didn't like them and want to sell them.

Mannheim Steamroller is awesome! We found their live Christmas concert in Columbus disappointing a few years ago; they just didn't interact much or seem to be getting into their music when on stage, plus it had a big multi-media TV show thing that we thought distracted from the music. We're not big fans of the older Fresh Aire stuff Chip Davis and the group did, but we sure do love hearing their Christmas stuff.

I heard this again on the radio this afternoon. It is called "Silent Night from Gods Perspective". It is very very moving. The radio announcer said it is not available on a cd.

Is this available to listen to online? Zany just recently turned me on to Musiccity.com (I was looking for Porky Pig's Blue Christmas!) I'd like to hear this song you're talking about...what kind of radio station are you listening to? Pop? country? jazz?

I checked and it was not on the new Christmas CD, gw-I like their Fresh Aire seies also; this new one is a bit less "peppy" than their first 2. If anyone can find a link to the song, I would love to hear it, I will do some station searching.

I found the words - check out my post:

Meet me in the stairwall

I heard it on a a.m. station - one of those "old fogie" stations as my dd would refer to. The announcer said it was his most requested song today.
