MaVie, have a great trip!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

We're gonna miss you, but I am so glad you're going to be with your son on Christmas. Be careful and know we're thinking about you while you're gone!!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

no, u're not going to miss me. i will be around ;)! provided those kids up north does not keep me busy. and even if they do, i will surely find a way to sneak into one of their computers.

Mike called me earlier in the day. told me some of his friends will pick me up at the airport. Mike knew he can not keep secret from me as i have a way of finding out. to make the long story short, i told him his friends probably got something off their sleeves for them to pick me up [btw, no one pick me up at the airport before!]

from the looks of it, they already have plans for the day. at any rate... i will keep u posted.

Thanks!!!!

MaVie, you know I'll be thinking of you and wishing you the happiest holiday, but don't you get too spoiled! Sounds like those young folks know how to treat royalty, huh? Eat seafood for me.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

just to let everyone know i arrived in one piece. the airport wasn't as bad as the media present it to be. yes, there are lots of marines with their guns. but their nice handsome smiles will melt u away :)! security is tight, but not bad.

i am surprise to see a lot of elderly folks traveling too! mostly in their late 80-90ish. all u hear on the intercome was... we need wheelchairs!!!! both for outgoing & incoming passengers!

we had an early Italian dinner, mostly seafood. yeah Aimee, i share all those goodies. good wine to go along with the food. we had cocktails before dinner too. one of the waiters is Mike's friend and recognized me. they used to be buddies in college. he brought me a tiramisu cause he remembered i love it. so he say... since u never made it to come celebrate ur birthday with us last Sept., this is to show i have not forgotten. ohhh i was like a candle melting away for the sweetness of everyone

Yo Aimee! when i get back, i am bring back that thingy i promised to make for u and some ;)!

tiG... next week Mike is taking the whole week off. we are going to San Francisco. love all the Asian goodies they have to offer. i think i am going to make a list of herbs Jianhua suggested. glad i have the time to do that.

Thank YOU EVERYONE for being so thoughtful & Caring. i deeply appreciate that! Love YOU All!!!

ps: if any one is intending to fly and visit friends & relatives... GO for it! flying is hazzle FREE. it is as good as normal, with the extra care from all airport & airline personnel. will keep u guys updated!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

MaVie, you are so thoughtful! You alone know how much it will mean to me. I am so glad Mike's friends are so nice. You deserve this break and the pampering. And it's good to see that you are already accessing the computer, that means we might have updates along the way. BTW, were you met at the airport with a serious ride, or did they pull a stunt as you anticipated? Try not to use up all of your energy, but have a fabulous time, and enjoy the collection of hunks our country has provided for your viewing pleasure.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

actually Aimee the plane was delayed by an hour. accdg to the pilot, we were not cleared for take off. after an hour of wait, 3 passengers came in. one is close by. i over heard they have to go through some thorough search cause of the hand carry they took on board the plane, instead of the baggage compartment.

yup! as i anticipated, there were there alright. the problems was it was really pouring hard, we had a hard time moving around town. we had an early dinner, then they were shopping galore. Mike got a 20 gb hard drive, extension of usb connection. Loretta bought 4 double web cams. i am not anticipating, but i got a suspicion some of those i will take home with me. whooopppeeeeeeeeeeee i wish!!!

a friend before i left home, gave me a cd writer for xmas present. hey girl friend we're cookin' now! that is if i figured how to put these things together. it is not going to be easy, but i surely will try hard to put them together thou ;)!

hang in there Aimee... we finally can finalize some of the things we both wish to do ... hehehehehehehe.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Yipppeeee! You did good!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

It sounds like you are having a great time! You will love the CD burner, I know I am enjoying mine now that I have taken the time to figure it out! Have a good time and keep sneaking in to let us know how you are!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

yo Zany ;), are u by any chance close to Menlo Park? no, don't get startled, i can not go to where u are located. i just want to have an idea about the geographic location.

yes, i am having a grand time. just the mere presence of my son close by makes all the difference. not for the material things, but the special thought that everyone care enough is more than anyone could ask specially during the holiday season.

i am so elated with all the love & attention from my son & his friends who had also adopted me to be a mother to them from their college days.ds. earlier this evening, more of them came. everyone decided this coming Sunday, we will have dimsum. they notified those not around thru Aol's IM, ICQ and cell phone. another grand day to come!
