After last season's drought, my backyard lawn is in shambles. I'm on Long Island and want to rebuild my backyard lawn. Right now it is spotty, has many bare spots. I just had someone run the aerator over it. What would be the best way to rejuvenate it? Should rake it good now and put seed down? I would like to use fertilizer but I have 2 dogs - a non chemical version would be a good recommendation. Thanks.
