I was cleaning chicory seed (the roadside kind) a couple days ago and I saw something I've never seen or heard of before. I'm 68 with a degree in hort. The seeds, especially those that had a little chaff on them, were attracted to my fingers. While laying on the table they would "reach out" or lean in my direction when I got about a half inch away. They were also attracted to a toothpick, a pencil, and a piece of glass. I could move my finger from side to side without touching them and they would track it. They were not attracted to the plastic microscope parts or other man made inorganic matter. They had the most energy immediately after being gleaned and it slowly died down. Two days later there was no movement. Anybody ever hear of this???? Thanks!!!!
