Thanks for the new thread Jackie.

Both of your blooms are awesome. Looks like they like the cooler fall weather.
I hope you ladies avoided the bad weather from that hurricane.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, we barely even got any rain from Helene. I assume You missed out on it too.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No rain here. Nice and calm.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I hope it stays dry here for a while. I have tons of work to do to get my plants back in the greenhouse for winter.
Just 2 blooms today
2 Begonia's I had cut back looking better now. I should have cut back a bunch
of them..

Linda, if you don;t pinch or prune the tips of your Begonia's, they will grow into tall sticks, Pruning them back makes then grow full and lush. You don;t always have to prune then, you can pinch out the newest small set of leaves and they will branch from that point.
Lovely blooms Helena, I;ve never seen such dark bars on a Milky /way, very pretty. I especially like the shade of blue on your first bloom.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie. I bought that milky way seed last fall or spring, I think it's called milky way galaxy. That first one is probably from Azuremore. I love big blooms. I like the 3rd bloom pic cuz the buds are coming in clusters. Last hige is kind of blurry.

I do like the MW Galaxy, that 3rd pic is really pretty with the light blue color
block.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jackie, thanks for the pruning tip.
Helena, your blooms are gorgeous

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda.
I started the MW galaxi mid summer and it has taken this long for it to start blooming. Found another volunteer blooming. Third bloom of a pink salvia greggii, had a hummer tasting the flowers.

Lovely blooms Helena, I notice the hummers fondest of the pinkish blooms,
Yesterday I had what I think was a Flying saucers bloom.
I have another one today coming out of the pot with 3 vines It was so sick looking
(when I planted it) that I didn't think it would ever make blooms, Now I wonder if the earlier blooms this summer I called Weird Saz might have also been Flying Saucers. I need to look at the Plant files for pics of each.

Beautiful blooms Helena. What is the 2 photo?

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda. That one is a peach from the little red coccinea mgs, I had it the pumpkin and then this peach appear in my garden. I shared seeds long ago so pumpkin is being sold on ebay.
I'm glad I went out a little later than usual to see this first hige that is a volunteer from. Danys seed from last year. Saving the seed after it sets.

Beautiful dark purple hige Helena. Love the Milky Way Galaxy
My blooms I sent in earlier this summer as Weird Saz were indeed Weird Saz, different from the Flying /saucers blooms.
From yesterday a LYK??? bloom with a color block,
Squared off Flying Saucers bloom, this happens when the nights are very cool.
especially with the tri-color mg blooms.
Here's a Flying saucers bloom from 3 days ago, wish I had taken a 2nd pic, might not have been so blurry.
No blooms today

Gorgeous purpurea blooms Helena. Love your shibori blooms, the 1st three
blooms. Sorry about the worms getting your pretty hige. I loved the hige
with the dark stripes,a favorite.
My cord is missing to upload pics from my camera. Think my grandson took it by mistake..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those striped blooms are pretty.
I too am sorry to hear about the worms. Hoping the green house will protect them.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda. Things happen when gardening. I'm just happy I'm still getting at least a few blooms. I started getting my cactuses and a few other plants into the gh.
These are from today. Last two is swamp sunflower I dug up from side of road last year. And my cactus took forever to bloo. Outside.

Beautiful blooms Helena. Love the sunflower and cactus blooms.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Beautiful dark purps Helena,. I've never seen the swamp sunflower, very pretty. Your peachy aloe blooms are lovely,

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Spent most of all day yesterday pulling up all the weeds I didn't get before in the green house. Cleaned off the benches and started the daunting task of carrying in plants. Dear grandson carried in all the heavy plants for me.while daughter and I carried in another 40 or so. Today I still have 50 or more to get in. Will be down around 40 tonight and I don't want to risk a frost if they miss the low.
No time for pic taking yesterday and my dark pink unknown vine finished blooming with over 10 open all at once, wish I could have taken pics..
Had another Flying Saucers open a couple of days ago

It's that time of year, to put things away. We had a cold front come thrladt night. Only 39 this morning.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, that same cold front is what dropped our temps down to 40 or so.
So glad to have all my plants back in the greenhouse.

Gautier, MS

Pretty flying saucer Jackie. I'm glad you got all your plants in. It was cold and windy here yesterday. I have not got the rest my plants in my gh yet. It's cold today too. I'll try to get them in today after it was r ms up. I'm glad you had help.
A purpurea from. Yesterday.

Helena, that is so pretty.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Lovely dark purp Helena.

Gautier, MS

Thanks for Linda and Jackie. I had a really pretty dark color purpurea that I missed yesterday morning and it was still open in the afternoon. But the dark color did not come on the picture I took.
I watered my plants and got maybe half into the gh. I have too many cactuses.

Thumbnail by helenahkh
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is beautiful Helena. I don't know why cameras don't pick up true colors.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Gorgeous color on your split petal Helena
.My Begonia's are scorched in the greenhouse. I had tried to put most of them in the shadiest area but not enough shade I guess. They say the Begonias will adapt and quit getting burned, we'll see.
Hubby has put up the flat fiberglass panels and quit wrapping the greenhouse, so nothing to block any of the sun thus burned leaves.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie. Hope your begonia recover Jackie. I have vines growing on top of my gh that give it shape, but my panes are getting old and need replacing.
Two blooms from last 2 days. Too early and still dark to see if I have any blooms this morning.
