I have a bunch of cuttings that I've removed most of the leaves from; they average around 18". Are they ok at that length, or should I make them shorter?
Are these croton cuttings too long to propagate successfully?
Most stem cuttings should be less than six inches including crotons. Big cuttings stress a plant with no roots. Crotons are easy to propagate and grow quickly but with large cuttings the plant will expend energy growing roots rather than leaves.
Ok, I cut them all down to around 6". Thanks.
