Successfully treating narcissus leaf scorch?

The daffodils I planted last fall were just diagnosed with leaf scorch by our local university. They recommended removing the diseased leaves & flowers, possibly digging up the bulbs themselves, and/or spraying with a fungicide. Has anyone successfully overcome this fungus? I had a similar problem with daffodils from the same vendor the year before in a different garden, and left them because I didn’t know what was wrong with them. They survived, but many didn’t bloom this year.
