Can you help me figure out what sort of disease is affecting this apple tree and how can it be treated?

Hi Maxwell175:

You have provided some very clear images of lichens, which are very happily living on the surface of the bark of your apple tree. There is no cause for alarm. The environmental conditions are quite to their liking, so they are going to continue to grow there and cause absolutely no harm to your trees.
