I've grown jalapenos for years and up until the last couple years they have had plenty of heat. The last three years my jalapenos have been more like bell peppers.
I have 6 plants now and they have plenty of fruit but again closer to bells.
What can I do to get more heat from my peppers?

Help getting hot back in my Jalapenos
I just googled 'why are home grown jalapenos not hot?" and up comes many articles on this and how to get them hotter. Evidently, it is a common problem.
Are you growing from saved seed? Peppers are so promiscuous in my garden.
The answer is simple. If your peppers are not hot and they are a variety that should be, check and or change your watering schedule. Water no more every three days and your peppers will be hot. This is what worked for me. A friend of mine in San Jose only waters his twice per week and his peppers are always hot.
Obviously, if you're in an area that gets regular rainfall, this won't work for you.
