Hi, all. Last fall I planted a Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa)--a plant, not bare-root--in a thoroughly watered flowerbed. It didn't come back up in spring when everything else did (including False Plumbago, a late-starting plant), so I gave up on it. Sometime maybe in May or June, I was digging there and found a tuber with roots that seemed alive, so I reburied it a few inches away. Now I see sprouts, from that same spot, I think. Can you confirm that this is Butterfly Weed or at least that it's a possibility? And what caused it to wait till July? Maybe I set it back by digging it up?
Thanks in advance.
Butterfly Weed?
Think not.
Oh, well. I'll let it grow for a while and see what it looks like. Thanks.
The stems are usually dark & hairy while the leaves are long & narrow. The perspective is difficult but those leaves look round.
