Hello, first-timer here. We have a little (3' tall) Harry Lauder's Walking Stick that we just got in the past month and planted 2 weeks ago. We are in Raleigh, NC. It looked very healthy in the pot and has looked fine after planting. But suddenly, 2 days ago, the leaves on one major branch started to shrivel and brown. So far, this is not happening on any other major branches. Please see the attached first 3 photos that show different views. We do not have beetles yet. Any ideas about what is causing this and why it would only be occurring (so far) on only one branch? 30 MINUTES AFTER POSTING THIS......I just came across an article on Eastern Filbert Blight on Harry Lauder's. Please see the additional 2 photos. The first shows what appear to possibly be Eastern Filbert Blight cankers on that problematic branch. The second photo shows little dots on a seemingly healthy branch. Is that indeed Eastern Filbert Blight on the problematic branch? And are the little dots visible on the healthy branch the beginning of the blight on the healthy branch? Thanks for any advice.
