Do you....

Do you find yourself reading a post because certain people posted to it, or started the post?? I know I do! I know that there are times when I overlook some post or choose not to post a reply to it, then I will see where certain ones posted to it, and then I go in and read it and reply to it. I wont dare say the names of those poster's, but I was just wondering if I was the only one who followed people around reading their post?!! *Ü*
I don't want you to post the person's name, but just wanted to know IF you find yourself doing this same thing??

no, if they interest me, I read them..Poster doesn't matter.
Sometimes a post from one of the lesser heard from's..lol, can be most interesting..I do a lot more reading than posting..

A little of everything really. I would reply to every post if I could get round to it because I feel if someone has taken the time to bring something to DG then at least they deserve to be noticed with some sort of reply. But there are so many forums now and I don't patronise all of them. I have seen posts where there were no responses, especially on the photo forum - so I make a point of replying to these. However, having said that sometimes I don't like the subject and will stay clear. But yes, there are some people whom I find very interesting and will follow them around.

Louisa, that makes me feel a little better...I thought I was the only one that done it. There are quite a few that I find intresting enough to follow around also *Ü*

Well Molly, I don't just make a beeline for certain people -when I say I follow them around, it's usually in the course of my travels around the forums. Otherwise if we only posted to our favourite people then DG would become very cliquey!! I love the different personalities that shine through in this garden :-)

Some people will always have more charisma, and I am drawn to some of them but not always. Like Larkie, I like to read something from someone I don't see often, too. And like Louisa, I would like to be able to get all the way around every day. It's just like a big coffee klatch going on all the time, with neighbors all over the globe joining in. I feel like I am enlightened when I read posts by those lurkers.

I too would like to read them all and post to them but that would take all day so I pick the ones that interest me.

hmmm maybe I didn't expalin it the right way, because now it looks like I am a weirdo that follows people around. LOL But that isn't exactly the way I wanted it to sound. I tend to be drawn to certain people's post...I promise I am not a weirdo! LOL I am just not too good at explaining things *Ü* Hopefully no one will avoid MY post because of this one. Feelilng soo red faced now!!!

Mollybee I think I understood it right. If I see a new thread and don't remember much about the person who started it, or their posts usually aren't interesting to me, I don't go there right away. But some people are like magnets to me, and when I see their name on a new posting, I'm curious to know what they have to say. Or if I see that some people have commented on a thread that I'm following, I go there sooner than if it wasn't someone I hadn't found interesting or knowledgeable before. I notice I tend to go to the same posts that those people of interest to me also visit. It's just like friends we see in person.

I generally read or post to topics that interest me. However, I have learned that some poeple here in DG are VERY knowledgeable, and I tend to read their posts even if the original subject wasn't of much interest to me. By doing that, I have learned MUCH about gardening, and a few other things as well!

I try to read as many posts as I can. Usually the title will be what draws me in. I would like to be able to remark on all posts, but alas, it would take me all day!

I enjoy reading all the posts though.

Mollybee..I see what you mean. Usually I dont do that, but sometimes I do. It depends on how much free time I have. I spend a lot of time reading posts in this place. I skip around forums too. There are some people I seem to enjoy reading their posts more often. Usually Id say it is the topic that will get me to look. Having just read Shoe's hilarious southern tale...I may have to start reading his stories more often though. Some people I just havent had the pleasure of getting to know better.

I like to read most of the post-if i can sneak in the time....turning around in my chair,looking over my shoulder.

Believe me, the subject "Do you..." would never have merited a 'click' from me if the author was not Mollybee! Too bad you asked for us NOT to say the persons names, because I have a few in mind...let's just say many of them are also visitors to the chatroom, where it is fun to 'talk' to my favorite posters. Molly that John beat me to the compliment. I usually read shoe and also Zany. I guess because they are somewhat like I would like to be. A great sense of humor that brings out the other talents they possess. I love them all I guess I would read and reply to everyone if I could. I find myself starting to post in reply to someone and after I have it ready I'll back out and erase it. I get to thinking I'm posting to much and no one wants to hear my opinion all the time. I think I might get to be a bore. And also some posts just makes me feel good. You seem to be a real happy person and therefore I read your post. Jim

I think I also look for the people that I trade with or have something in common with. Now I do look for Joan's photos first thing when I go to that forum. I know it will be special. I was looking for a photo she posted to show my wife and couldn't find it so I went to her page to view her postings and was surprised to find that every posting of hers is in the photo forum. About 125 altogether. I had a great time, I just started at the bottom and went to the top.

Thanks Molly, I look for your posting also. You seem to be such a positive person. Always lifting the spirits of the people you post to. I like that in a person.

I started to reply to so many posts, but then since my english is not the best, and the spelling eaven worse I just click on the back button and don't post.

I know about the spell checker but then again, I want to read more posts.

Carmen, Please don't let that stop you from posting!! Even I have trouble spelling, when I am not sure how the word is spelled I usually follow the word with (sp?)meaning that the word probably ain't spelled right. As far as your English...well I am sure we can understand you so just go ahead and post. I'll be looking for more post from you soon!

Carmen, I've never noticed a problem with your English or your spelling. Time's too short to fuss if someone spells something wrong! Actually, I do notice the people I know best posts first, but I really love it when the quieter ones of you post. I ALWAYS read those, even if I don't answer.

Also very glad to meet you Carmen and yes please, you really should post - we would love to see more of you and don't worry about the spelling - it really does not matter at all. Hey we need more Canadians here, so come on in :-)

The shy one has been busy the last couple of days and is trying to play catch up on the forums. I too find myself watching for certain names to pop up and read those first! I don't always reply to each one but I try not to miss them! But then if I see a post from someone I don't recognize I hurry to read that too! I'm kinda like the proverbial CAT! Curiosity kills the cat but satisfaction brings it back! And this site has plenty to keep me curious!

As for being followed....please be careful and do not tailgate...I stop suddenly at all photos and have been known to spit tea through my nose, laughing so hard the house shakes and causing sizmic readings comparable to a 7.5 earthquake when reading some of the posts here!

I have no idea why you think you are shy - these misconceptions could lead you into trouble you know!! I also know people like you who stop suddenly. I have lost count of the times I have bumped into someone (I think he's called my DH) when he stops walking, I have turned my head for a moment, gone slap bang into him taking his heels clean off....lolol!!
