Can some id this big guy? We think he may have bitten my wife near Albion CA.
Reddish brown spider
This looks like a hacklemesh weaver (family Amaurobiidae) - see https://spiderid.com/picture/9410/ for an example. Like the vast majority of spiders, they have venom glands and thus can be considered venomous, but their bite is not medically significant.
Thk you. Much appreciated! She had a small reaction. Some tingling on the side of her face near the bite area for a few hrs. No swelling. All is good now. 👍
