Hi. I observed this very large bee flying recently. The next day I observed a dead bee on my driveway and something in my skimmer. Can you identify these insects and let me know if they are the same?
Please Identify
The dead "bee" actually is a wasp in the family Sphecidae known as a cicada killer. They are not at all aggressive towards humans - see https://nysipm.cornell.edu/whats-bugging-you/stinging-insects/cicada-killer/
The other insect is a very dead cricket that has lost most of its appendages.
