hi everyone, a mousetrap in my NYC apartment caught this bug last night. hopeing someone can help ID as I don't have any knowledge of bugs but this doesn't look particularly friendly :(

This spider cannot be identified with any confidence from the image provided. The only spider in New York of medical significance is the black widow, and your spider certainly is not one of them. The most likely suspect is one of the funnel weavers in the family Agelenidae; these are not at all dangerous to humans.
