I saw this along a fence row on 6/15/2022 in Scott County, Kentucky (zone 6). I have never seen quite so colorful a beetle here.
I got only this one image before it flew away. I believe it was perched on Viburnum prunifolium leaves.
CLOSED: What kind of beetle is this?
It’s a burying/sexton beetle (family Silphidae) in the genus Nicrophorus. There are several species that superficially resemble one another; possibilities include Nicrophorus tomentosus; see https://entomologytoday.org/2016/08/09/burying-beetles-are-part-of-natures-clean-up-crew/
You are the best! Thank you, Flapdoodle.
